Mosquito Build
« on: May 30, 2019, 01:02:38 pm »
This is the one that I started, to get back into building, after a long absence.

Seems it's also got to be first subject for the airbrush, not much but a start.

I do have a question.  What color would the interior of the canopy framing be?

Got back to this one.  Working on the canopy and used this watch crystal glue.  Pretty good stuff.

OK, need some help here.  The Revell instructions call for Flat black, dark green fs 34096 and ocean gray FS36270.  Would this be correct?

I have over 100 bottles of paint that survived the hiatus but I only have the flat black.

Dunno about the FS numbers as the RAF didn't use them of course, but the colour names are dead on, Dark Green and Ocean Grey with black undersides was the standard RAF scheme mid to end of WWII.
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Medium Sea Grey was AFAIK also frequently used on the upper side as an alternative to the Ocean Grey, esp. on aircraft that were operated at night.

Another good option for WWII RAF Dark Green is FS 34079 (US Forest Green).

Later on they went to an overall Grey with Dark Green disruptive cam on the uppers, as Black stood out too well on moonlit nights.

Thanks, Guys.  Just ordered some paint.  Can't believe I didn't have some in the all the paint I had.  I want to get the Mosquito done so I can get another on the bench.  I got an old idea I want to do the should be quick.

Got some paint on here.  Nothing special just flat black.
