...I found one part ( the gun cradle) from the old Renewal Skysweep that I built as a boy.  So it has to be over 50 years old...

This one?

Cor, I can remember building one of those waaaaaay back when!  ;D

It was a very good kit as I recall, and virtually fell together too. The 'invisible gluing' business was very clever, you put the parts in place first and applied the glue to the back of the locating pegs where it couldn't be seen, very ingenuous.

And it all folded up for travelling too!
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

And it was "fully operating" as well!
I can just picture a youthful me having one and firing 2mm calibre shells across the playroom...

Just to prove Iím nuts, I could stop thinking about how hard it would be to build one that actually fired .22 cal bullets. Good thing Iím not a machinist......

Got some putty on today.

This is the putty.  Picked it up at the local big box hardware store.  You have to work fast as it cures in just a few mins.  Also, the smell is really bad until it cures.

This was the first rough sanding about 30 mins after the putty was applied.

Next, some sanding and then primer and more PSR.
