looks very good, looks like it came straight out of the book
are you planning to have a go at the Bordurian Tank from "The calculus affair" too?

With the amount of tanks I seem to be acquiring while flailing around trying to get a donor kit for my Tintin moon tank project... I just might!  :banghead:

I've got several other 1/72 cars up my sleeve (look ma! no arm!) including the Congo Model T (trying to decide if it should be black like on the cover, or yellow like in the book), the Alfa Romeo-esque car from Cigars of the Pharoah and the Armoured car from The Blue Lotus.  I'd also like to land a Peugeot 403 in 1/72 for Castafiore's car in the Castafiore's Emeralds... but that one's a bit tricky.  I can only seem to find a "roughly" 1/72 offering (I think 1/67 is close enough) as a plastic toy from the 50s/60s from a company known as a "Cadum Pax" - no idea what the actual size is though as most listing saying 1/72/HO/NO, which seems like code for "I dunno but close enough" and the cost of the options on ebay seem a bit high (big surprise).

Thanks!

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I've been travelling for work lately, so I haven't been able to work on any of my projects for a bit. So instead, I decided to start a little scratch build project that only required some styrene, a knife, a ruler, tweezers and some glue to get moving.

Luckily, the Japanese armoured car from the Tintin Adventure, The Blue Lotus is basically just a box on wheels.  But even more luckily, some bright spark drew up a scalable set of drawings that can be followed as an accurate guide. :)

Measure twice, cut three I always say...

Measure two points and an angle will appear.

Looked like it worked. The second one was just traced.

Some assembly required.

Thanks!

Well, that was quick.

Well, I mean it's basically just measure, cut, glue...  there's a few tricky angles, but no curves, so it's basically just a box. It was a good project to work on from a hotel room considering all I had was a few tools and a glass top desk. ;)
Thanks!

very very good !

but ... errr ... isn't there something missing? ... a yellow one? ... somewhere in an old Tintin album?
 ;D

strobez

A yellow what? Armoured car? The only real yellow vehicle that stands out in my mind is the model T that Tintin drives in Congo..
Thanks!

I was hoping for a yellow jeep, but there doesn't seem to be one :
a search on "tintin yellow car" shows other ones ...

Here's a couple of final pics now that the Tintin jeeps (and motorcycle) have received the final touches... decal license plates, cargo and a wash.

Thanks!

Meanwhile, I got a bit further ahead with the armoured car...

The front grill... made from overlapping strips.

Fit in place.

Now for a turret...

For the wheels, I found one from an Academy MiG-21... but I only had one.  Luckily I'm now resin-casting enabled. ;) Voila, 3 more!

Really starting to look like it now.

Thanks!

Simply stunning

Thanks! I have to admit, I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out... that's why I keep taking pics!
