Quote from: Pellson on Yesterday at 01:35:23 PM, so why not do it with something tastier than boring tap water? Admittedly, Swedish tap water is generally extremely good in an international context, but still.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who finds flat water boring.  To placate SWMBO, who has been known to complain about my soda drinking, I'll pick up cases of San Pelligrino sparkling water and Arizona Iced Tea ad our local warehouse (non Sam's) club.

Besides, I got my fill of it in Iraq, drinking sun-boiled 1.5L bottle cases.

CalOSHA requirements only say worksite drinking water has to be "suitably cool", not cold, not "refreshing", just keep it out of the sun.

That's a beautiful, idyllic picture. It makes me want to wander down that path and see what's on the other side of that hill.

+1 here. Even a few drops of Lemon or Lime juice can make it drinkable, but plain? Nuh-uh.

That scenery looks great, Pellson.

And hope the procedure goes as planned and has the intended effect.

Drat!!  Our esteemed colleague has just added yet another " place I really must  visit" to my ever growing list.  I too was involved in some archaeology (the 1970's in my case)  and this description makes both Bridget and I want to explore it.
British tap water is  safe to drink and generally a reliably neutral taste but I concur with your decision to find something more interesting .
By the time you read this, the procedure will probably be over, I hope it went as planned!
I agree that Mondays and Tuesdays can be an uphill struggle, and from Wednesday onwards you feel as though you are sliding gently down towards the weekend.

Thank you. This is the footpath going around the major royal burial mounds in Old Uppsala. In the shot above, you can only see one of the mounds as they curve slightly to the left, and perhaps is the view from the other side of the line of mounds more familiar, as they can all be viewed in one shot. I couldn't however resist the framing ash trees..
But here is the more common view

This site also features a nice >>museum<< and is rather easily reached through public communications from Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. That said, I would recommend renting a car nevertheless if you are into archaeology and/or history. The sheer amount of interesting sites within ca 2 hrs drive from ARN is staggering! Below is f.i the mighty Hågahögen, dominating what once was a small peninsula projecting into Lake Mälaren. At this site, a "culture house" (temple?)has been excavated as well, and in its innermost room, a rock was found that rang with a bell-like tone when knocked on with a smaller stone. During the excursion when I was a student, this "klangsten", or "bell rock" was still in situ, and I have vivid memories of trying out different tones by hitting it at different spots.

Some great pics there   and glad to see that you are feeling upbeat about things
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Cheers, mate. Then again - not much use suffering through treatments just to survive, is there? You do it to live and rejoice, not just wearily hang around.

I was told by my oncologist ....6 years ago..... that people with a positive attitude were (in his view)  nearly twice as likely to survive longer and with a much better quality of life than the doom merchants.  If this is indeed the case, your attitude is commendable and the best thing you can do.

Carry on living life to the full and enjoy every moment, we are all supporting you!
