That's a hefty lake there, and interestingly the very nearby airfield has a ramp at one end of the taxiway that leads right into the lake. I doubt they'd have hauled a Sunderland out of the water on it though, the forest is much too close.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Might not have been 80 years ago.

Currently road tripping and today we stopped at Meningie in South Australia for lunch.  The War Memorial there has an engine set up as a memorial to the four crew members who died in the crash of Avro Anson W2370 which crashed 3rd June 1942.

 Its at 35°41'15.42"S  139°20'15.85"E

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Added, thanks!  May I use a couple of those photos on the map, credited?

Removed, thanks.  That's a bit after I started making the map; I am very slowly going back through, and appreciate the updates.

My friend Richard Flagg, who has written books on aviation memorials in Norfolk and Essex, just posted a map of aviation-related sites in the UK and Eire: https://www.ukairfields.org.uk/uk-aviation-museums.html

Comparing it to my map, I added 50 more museums!  Mainly fairly small local ones with some sort of aviation display, and some RAF station heritage centres.  Still, the most we've added in years, and some really great places to visit.

I haven't done a numbers post for close to a year, so:

2219 museums
1907 memorials/miscellaneous
12093 gate guards/display aircraft
For a total of 16219 entries.

I've been going through and updating display aircraft; some are gone, a few hopefully temporarily for restoration.
