the instructions are not as crude as the Mach2 kit but lack detailing.

Can you use the words 'instructions' and 'Mach 2' in the same sentence?  :-\ :banghead:
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I got a kick out of my Arii Beechcraft Bonanza instructions.....

The rest weren't any better. Probably less than 50 words in the entire shooting match and they all consisted of the the same vague poorly translated mush.

McColm... that's a good tip about the hot water... that would have never occured to me!  I'm definitely going to get one of these Anigrand kits some day. Probably that Xf8u, in fact, so I can complete my century series collection. I alrady have the 107!   ;D

From ebay:

Airfix Beaufighter/Fw 190 Dogfight Double.  Only bought it for the Beau but now considering a Lebanese option for the 190 (what if they bought some from the French?)

Oh, and a load of Xtracrylix paints.  RAF ones, natch!

I'm already working on a possible back story, but will also involve Spitfires.

Those Anigrand folks make a lot of really neat subject matter. Way out of my price range, though.  About the cheapest one I've see is this thing for ~ $50. (looking now at the website you posted I see some more for cheaper, sweet!  )

I wonder how good the quality is of Anigrand stuff?

That kit has been in my "almost complete" pile for years, just need to get around to getting some paint on it one day  :banghead:

Anigrand do lots of very interesting subjects and I've a fair few in the stash and on the shelves. Quality wise they are probably in the middle as far as resin producers go. Czech Master and nowadays Planet being up the top end and a certain Ukrainian producer being at the other end of the scale, and yet I've still loads of his in the stash  :banghead: Anigrand can have thick joining surfaces but that can be quite useful at times, and if you want to stay in scale then you'd probably need to replace over thick doors etc, but they go together well and quite easily. They don't waste their time on tiny parts that are pia's to fit. So if you ever get the opportunity to get one at a good, price take it up, you won't be disappointed.

Sweet, thanks!  I will. I've already convinced myself I have to have that Xf8U, at least....  The first one I see for $30 or less is mine if I have it in the bank at the time. If not, next year I should be making enough to buy it at $50.

Go finish your XF8U!

I picked up a second hand Hasegawa B-26F/G for a good price, I'd had a quick look before buying and it appeared like the bags hadn't been opened, when I got home I found that the bags WERE open and I could instantly see parts missing from some sprues, with a sinking feeling I went through sprue by sprue and at the bottom of the box was a assembled cockpit, all missing parts accounted for. Phew!

Got a cheap Heller 1:72 Mirage IVA. Feel the itch to covert it into a heavy interceptor, probably with a new nose and bigger radome. Operator candidates are France (AFAIK, this was even a real world plan), a USAF successor to the DeltaDart, or something Swedish. A Tu-28 alternative is also an option, though... so many ideas, gotta let the creative dust settle for a while.

You could always do the Naval version intended to fly off PA-58 single seat with a nuclear strike armament.

Also a neat option, but I feel that the IV wants to show its interceptor potential...  ;)

Two new Badger airbrushes off ebay.  Really could do with a spare one that actually works...

Received both the 1/700 RN G3 Battlecruiser and N3 Battleship hulls for the pre-Washington Treaty ships today, Lovely detail and finished off with the Tamiya Rodney's I already picked up

I also got myself an early Christmas Present to go atop my book case a Merit 1/350th HMS Ark Royal III, its a big bugger and not the scale I generally use but should be a nice build of the Wartime Carrier and look the part atop my Naval Books Bookcase
