Built the F5-A when it first came out, don't think I've ever seen the Tiger Eye boxing ?

That's why I had to have it! I looked at scalemates and I don't think they put out a whole lot of these?  Seems a little rare, maybe?  I had never seen one before, period, so had to have it...   I picked up the F5A classic at the same time because how could I get one and not the other.  The boxes look sweet sitting together.

That's wicked cool, kitnut!!!

Thanks TCO,  there are a number of static CF-5's around the country which have the earlier designed stand which look the same as this one, but the problem arose of wind loads on the wings flexing the stand. The stand was battering the fuselage from the inside out.  My job was to make it so it wouldn't do that and I was told that after a few years they would check out the one I worked on, and if it solved the problem, then all the others that are displayed using this stand would be converted to this new design.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

HMM... I hope it holds real good, then, because I'd imagine that would potentially mean more work.  If 2007 is accurate I'd imagine they would know by now?

Bought from BigCat Modelismo, Airfix 1/72 Spitfire F.22 and Revell 1/72 F-22A Raptor, bought on ebay a few days ago, a Emhar 1/72 FJ-4 Fury and a Revell Snap-tite F-22...
Snagged at the last moment today, also on ebay, a Revell 1/72 F-16B for the decent total of 14.50! Since they're out of production at the moment, i thought it'd be better to get a second one for future projects.

The Revell F-22 snaptite kit was delivered on Friday, today was the F-16B.
On Saturday i ordered a few more DSI intake sets from Lonestar resin parts from Japan, and after that, went out to my LHS for some supplies, 4 Tamiya colors, a 6mm tape refill, a 180ml gray primer spray can and 2 thin hand brushes... oh, and the Airfix 1/72 Bf-109E-4 came home with me...
Also, just bought on the bay was the Tamiya 1/72 AV-8B, to use some of the decals on my Portuguese Marines' Harrier and the rest is whif fodder.
Last, but not least, directly from Caracal decals, a 1/48 Dark Vipers and a 1/72 Next generation Vipers sheet for future builds, both whif and real world.

Caracal decals delivered yesterday, and finally, also delivered yesterday, Emhar's Fury...

Sweet wares, right there!!  I'll admit, I didn't know the Navy ran any of the F-86 family. I'll have to add that on to my wish list!

Cool decals.

Yeah, not a direct descendant but a close cousin - new fuselage for one thing - but others will know more.

Cheers

The earlier Furies, the FJ-2s and 3s, were very much like Sabres, bit with folding wings, hooks and extending nose legs.

The later FJ-4, like your Emhar kit, was almost a complete re-design, with a deeper fuselage to take more fuel, a stronger 'wet' wing and much enhanced capability.
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

The kit is a scaled down Matchbox kit.  The tooling is believed to be Matchbox also.

The Emhar kits are all original to Emhar except four which are ex-Frog (Anatra Ansenal, Mig-3, Lagg-3,Yak-3). The FJ-4B was Emhar's first model. From the Big Book---- but J.C. Carbonel wrote an article in the Aug '95 Scale Models International about the company which is where the Big Book got it's reference from.

I got some decals today!!  These are officially the oldest model making things I've ever owned. These were produced when WWII was STILL GOING.  1944 (and a couple from '45 as well, I think) by the Poster Stamp Press co. of Chicago, Ill.:

Here's the thing... they are in immaculate condition. For some reason, the guy that sold 'em to me kept the neat envelopes they came in. They are totally usable. No cracks of any kind, no yellowing...   I've seen transfers from the 80's turn to dust and these look like they were printed last week.

EDIT: If anyone wants, I can snap better pictures of individual sheets... just let me know.  I can post them here or somewhere else better suited.

EDIT2: I just sent the seller a personal message asking if there were some way to get the envelopes. Are they worth money or something?  I posed him the same question and stated that I wouldn't blame him for holding on to them. At the same time, I also said that if he is merely using them for storage or something then by all means let me take them and give him something neat he needs

Thanks, guys... I feel great having secured these. I feel like I'm holding history. I may use some of these but most will fill my collection of historic model stuff. A few of them are complete sheets. I would be hard pressed to do anything other than safeguard them.

The FJ-4 was definitely scaled down from the Matchbox 48th kit.  The parts breakdown and sprues are identical to the 48th kit.

The package of bagged Spits has arrived.  The "unknown" mk IX is indeed teh Airfix new tooling but one of the early ones with the errors before they redid it.  The incorrect ones were never released but used for make and takes at shows.  However, some DID escape into the wild as I know for sure due to buying two in the standard boxing.  Sadly, one got cut up for bits before I realised what it was.  However, this one is likely to be converted into a rare FRIXe with the camera in the starboard position.  Possibly in pink, I haven't decided yet.
