Well, it's still a good idea! Go for it!
Just keep it simple and don't chop things up unless you really have to.
BTW, I think the plan with one bomb bay ahead of the wing and one behind makes more sense. Sonobouys can be fitted just about anywhere. The old S-2 had some behind the engines.

Wasn't there a bomber version of the DC6 proposed at one stage? Got beaten into touch by the B-29 of course.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Model 1155 with defensive tail turret] ,4 or 6 Allison J33 or PW jet engines with a bomber nose and extended wings.
Model 1169 would of had four jet engines to power the bomber.
Both ideas presented in 1948
From the line drawings and wooden mockup models the wings appear to be straight with a pair of wingtip fuel tanks included on the Model 1155.

I suppose a kitbash using B-29 parts would work 🤔
