i remember a discovery program when they tested this concept and found that aircraft were to fast for the delivery package but a helicopter could fly at the speeds needed, around 35 kts i believe.

Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

Depending on the tree there could be no need for the "bomblets", just drop the seeds. We have maples in the neighborhood and the darn seeds are everywhere and sprout like weeds.

Similar concept was tested with bait containing vet medicine against the fox-tapeworm in Germany. The idea was to distribute small, medicated bits all over the German landscape, and aircraft turned out to be much too fast for an even distribution. IIRC, the concept ended up with a rotating dispenser that was carried by a helicopter, and even that was abandoned because the campaign was too expensive.

Are agricultural aircraft used to sow crops?

Aaaaaaaaand there it is.  Nigel Planer as Neil is now in my head.  "We sow the seed, nature grows the seed, we harvest the seed, we sow the seed, and then, and this is the clever bit, nature grows the seed..."

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Ok, a bit late to this, but looking at the article they're going to use Lancs to do the seed bombing as well. Maybe they should use '558 as well?? Sounds like a decent idea though
