Not surprising - you'll need a while to recover from all that. Hope it goes well.

Hello.
You may not have noticed but i've been absent for a few days.  I'm not sure how many but there is five pages of unread posts do skim through.
I haven't been anywhere, i've got the dreaded lurgi and have been taking advantage of the down time to do a stocktake of the stash.  I've been photographing kits and then checking them off on the spreadsheet as I go through the pictures.  The advantage of this technique is I can take the pics (most kits are single layered on shelves in cupboards) and then go back into the house and work through them while sniffing and coughing (although TBH I don't feel bad, I just can't speak - a disadvantage in a customer service job).
I chose to complicate things by colour coding the spreadsheet to show the storage location of each unbuilt kit.
Stage 1 is almost done.  I just have three kits to find.  I know I haven't built them or given them away, I have probably just failed to photograph them,
Stage 2 will be to check the built models against the spreadsheet.  A much more onerous task as i've been very bad at recording what I have made.

Sorry to hear you are a little "iffy" mate, but glad to see that you've recovered enough to start making some guenuine progress on something to many of us (not looking in any mirrors here  ) can be very poor at making progress on.

Take care of yourself
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Sorry to hear you are in less than perfect working order. Your particular lurgi makes a customer facing job impossible...............said he who had to carry on teaching a class of 11 year olds whilst suffering from a case of laryngitis!   Best of luck with your stocktake!

Thanks guys.
Yesterday I sounded sexy.  Today I sound evil (like Peter Serafinowicz).  And tomorrow i'm going back to work.

I managed to drag my carcase down to the shed this morning where I found the three missing kits.
So that's it.  Stage 1 complete.  682 kits.  Not as many as some of you have but still more than Mrs z would be comfortable with if she knew.

And in all that little lot there was not one which cried out "why did you buy me?  sell me now r give me away..."

Don't count them , then you have plausible deniability

Now you have documentary evidence, that can and will be used against you  ;)

Then all the effort wasn't wasted!   ;)

Sorry to hear you've been under the weather, but good to hear you're on the mend.

Ach, it's just a cold.  I shouldn't complain.  There are those going through worse.
But thanks for the nice words everyone.

Last Monday at the model car club meeting I was given a shopping bag full of back issues of Scale Auto Enthusiast and Scale Auto (as it became).  Today i've been sitting in the warm and dry with a pile of them next to me flicking through them.  I started with 1985 and am working forwards.
I'd forgotten what hobby magazines were like pre interweb.  The whinging letters (exactly the same whinging now read on internet forums), the full page ads listing in tiny print every model they have for sale, and the small ads in the back.  So many small ads.  I always wonder.  Did Earl get his AMT '70 Mustang interior?  Did David manage to borrow an MPC Lotus engine cover to make a mould from?  Was the George Patton in Texas looking for Hot Rod parts any relation?
The kit releases though are very familiar.  The new ones and the old ones.

I've made a note of the ones you are responsible for.  You'll share the blame mate...

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Many moons ago my Mrs made a rather sarcastic comment about the amount of wargammes figures I had, I opened the wardrobe door and pointed at her shoes. She is now my ex Mrs

I did that with my wife. She laughed and said "shut up!"
