Thanks Kit.

It's one of four kits I bought during a holiday to Hawaii in 2012.  Taken me this long to get round to building it.
AMT have re-released their 1/25 '41 Ford Woody.  I wouldn't mind having another go at building that one if I can find one here at a reasonable price.
First time around (about 2008) I made it a Gasser.

No modelling today.  Worked this morning then as it was raining I spent most of this arvo doing laundry and cutting & juicing 2kg of limes to make marmalade with.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

A most worthy alternative to modelling!

Lime marmalade? I've never heard of that! Put it on some toast with your margarita?

Lime marmalade has a "tang" to it.  It makes a nice change from Seville Orange.
My favourite of those i've made is Mandarin Marmalade - or Mandalade.  Keep an eye out for cheap bags of Mandies at the end of the season.

It continued raining on and off today.  I did a little modelling but my 2 Kg of Limes made 15 (375g) jars of Marmalade and my kitchen got slightly stickier.

You can buy it off the shelf in the UK. I'll bet serious money that Zenrat's homemade stuff is better though...

We get it here, too - most excellent, but pricey, so we don't get it a lot in our household.

Mine is less sweet than Rose's.  My niece grows some seriously tart limes.

We get mulberry trees around my house. They grow like weeds. The birds eat the berries and then poop purple on my house and truck. One of these years I'm going to try making mulberry jelly. It's a distinct taste but pretty good.

Madame Rheged sends her salaams to a fellow "marmaladier"  and hopes that your peel may never clump or sink.

I have memories (nearly 40 years ago when we were newly married and almost broke)  of buying  cheap  packs of reduced nearly out of date citrus, chuntering them and freezing down the pulp.  whenever we could afford the sugar in quantity, we made quantities if mixed citrus marmalade.  We enjoyed it, and  Bridget  won a silver medal with it at the Dalemain International Marmalade Festival. She's still making marmalade, and has added a GOLD,  two more SILVER and five BRONZE  awards to her tally.   https://www.dalemain.com/about-the-festival

MARMALADE Awards? Whatever next?  :o

Having said that, it's very 'British stuff' isn't it, yet it's amazing how many hotels DON'T serve marmalade for b'fast these days!  :banghead:

Unless it comes in a small self serve sachet these days, probably a very low chance.

At least the last time I B & B around the UK, some of those nice folks still plonked the jar and spoon on the table or breakfast bar.

Good one Fred, making your own almost anything is better.
My GLW was an apricot jam maker as we had our own cracker tree. She also tried making Worcestershire sauce using our apples... That came out "bloody awesome"  ;D

Since i'm one who just buys marmalade as it just works out far cheaper and also ,,i eat so little of it most of the time the marmalade expiration date comes along and when i look at said date ,,its 4 or 5 months later and thats how my orange marmalade went pretty much all the time ,,then i discovered grapefruit marmalade ....this stuff is amazing and never lasts long  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .

I recently discovered pineapple jam...

But back to modelling.  I had an hour and a half before work today which I used to continue putting together the 1/48 Dicker Max.  It's getting close to paint.  I have to decide what colour to paint the interior and the gun.  This matters due to it being an open topped SPG.
It's not a RW build but I looked to the interweb for inspiration only to find a distinct lack of colour reference pictures.  Not surprising given they only built two of them.
Outside is going to be green.  My story is that is was captured at Kursk, refurbed by the Sovs, and gifted to the PDRV after the war.  However, while the exterior would have been repainted the interior would have remained its original colour.  A shade of grey probably.

I mean, if you could find an interior colour photo of some other German WWII open-topped gun and copy that, who's going to tell you you're wrong?

The insides of a lot of AFVs are white, at least to start with...
