Or you are wearing thongs/flip flops/sandals/barefoot...

Thanks guys. It was just a little skin deep stab that hurt more than anything else. But I suppose it could have been much worse. I was barefoot at the time too.

In other news... HMRC have indicated that we should have Probate granted soon. Which means the house in Chelmsford can be sold.
Mum wants to leave this council house and buy a small flat in somewhere like Bishops Stortford.
I want my own space and would rather get my own place but I don't earn anywhere enough to rent privately around here.
There's going to be a lot of difficult conversations soon.

Your mum can transfer her council house over to you if this helps.

Unfortunately it was already transferred over from Dad when he left. One transfer only.

This week I have been selling stuff. There is more to sell.

Facebook Marketplace is fine for local and large items - garden umbrella, fridge, rotovator, chairs etc. Cash is king!

Ebay. I haven't sold on here for a very long time despite being a user since 2002. It's very easy now using the app - take photos of item, add in a good description and price, List it and wait.
When it sells Ebay will send you a link to print the address label and handle the payments. Now I have to trot up to the shops and send stuff off.
Hardest part is finding boxes and packing

People will buy almost anything  ;D
I've sold 10 rolls of random vinyl and anaglypta wallpaper from the 1970s. My old PC set up from 5 years ago has gone - motherboard, CPU and graphics card.
The deep fat fryer Mum got 15 years ago and used 5 times has sold. Had to clean it first though  :-X

My pricing method is to compare new and ebay prices then drop my selling level to 10% below that for a quick sale.
I will be adding model kits later this week.

That's what makes the food fried in it taste so good.  We used to have a hot dog stand in Cresskill when I was growing up, as we swore he never changed the fry oil or cleaned the fryer.  Best damn fries (chips) I ever had from there.

I've put a load more stuff up on Ebay. Not sure if the prices are right for kits but we shall see.

Thinking of clearing out my old 90s techno-thriller paperbacks. Haven't read them in years and in most cases I can recall the story.
Dale Brown, Tom Clancy, Harold Coyle, Richard Herman among others. Anybody interested?

The house is on the market and we've had 9 viewings so far. Estate agent sounded very positive this morning.

Sorted a place to stay in Scotland end of the month. On the shores of Loch Tay near Aberfeldy. Nice mountains around there.

Sounds nice Nick, as long as the weather is decent

A friend of mine would sell on e bay. He also worked at a factory and there were always used boxes and packing material being thrown out daily. Repurposing is golden and free.

It's been a busy month now.

The house is likely to sell for less than expected as the buyers are saying it needs more expensive renovation work than we thought.

The NEC model show was good fun. Having all the different hobbies of model railways, radio control cars and lorries, and the big Chieftain tank in the middle made for a good atmosphere.
All I bought were some cars from Oxford who were having a clearance sale - you gave them an email address and got one model car. Pay a pound and get another!

I had a lovely holiday in Scotland. Went to see The Kelpies on the way amd met with Gondor.
I stayed in a cabin by Loch Tay and walked up a few hills in glorious sunshine. Drove down to Wigtown to look at books and explore the wonderful quiet area. Good pub meals too 👍

I was having trouble opening a jar of Tamiya paint so I asked my genius nephew to 3D print a bottle opener for me. This one does both Tamiya amd the small drop bottles. Very pleased with it. He also made me a stand for my Gillette razor  <_<You cannot view this attachment.

Glad you had a good break Nick   Now, back to work and continue paying those taxes for us pensioners  ;)  ;D

Those 3D items look really good mate.  to your nephew.

He should think about marketing that jar/bottle opener

Someone on ebay already does, but they're not as good as the proper thing, it's just slightly too large.

If Nick's nephew's version works OK he could steal the market!

They all say that. Don't forget that you can say "Well, if you want to pull out after we accepted your offer..." and watch them squirm.

I got a 2CV as my free one, was annoyed I didn't have the requisite single pound for a second, but then the guy on the MDN stand had knocked a pound off my SECR wagon purchase so it balanced out!
