   indeed
both hulls are undercoated
also assembled a bit of scenery, 2 bits from an old mixer tap with some tube in the center holes and some scrap I beam across the top a chip shop mushy peas tub with the sealing lip sanded off with some scap MDF bits to break it up as a tank, and some 1:35 Tamiya wall round 2 and 3/4 of the sides on a 10cm by 10cm scrap of plywood just using up bits, to make a Line Of Sight blocker / gubbins bit   its a similar size piece to the tank mentioned on 04 Jan 2026 so they will tessellate well together, ive another 10 pieces the same size, as they came from a laser cut deck calendar a friend game me last year, so plan on slowly utilising them for  a set over this year

starting on dry-brushing the ship hulls,  grey grey and more grey....  but it at least will give them some depth of colour, after that is complete it will be time to add on the white, yellow and black for windows and the gold for sensors, and gunmetal on engine bits and weapon ports,
probably wont name the 3 cargo haulers, or if i do ill just poach some nice boring real world names.  The SDN is a Gaia class so i will have to look up who her less than pleasant sister was, ( i knew it once for a game of Werewolf the Apocalypse, so il will recognise it when i see it  :-\  )  the ER River will be another off world river system probably Venusian, if i can find one, or Mercurian   ;D as all 5 are on 60 mm round bases they are taking up most of my painting area along with the 3 pre painted versions that will be used as guides.

number 6 would be covered in warning markings, and very likely a drone ship, as any serious fire against it would be " spectacular"

if i ever do a solar sailor, ill need a metal foil cocktail umbrella for the sail
i have thought on this for a larger display model ( a space blanket to replace the fabric on a full sized umbrella, and a payload of a space shuttle..)

Laminate the foil over the cocktail umbrella - front and back - and you're done.
It'll add a bit of stiffness/rigidity to the assembly (for a given value of 'stiffness and rigidity', of course...)

Or just spray the thing silver - much easier than fettling around with foil - trust me on that...

i was hoping i would be able to purchase one, from a party good supplier, or something like a pound store.
its a planed thing   medium to long term,  its above  learn  to program in klingon, but rather a long way down from the finish what on my painting desk

were back !  yay,
well the ships are all done
the CHER is the Kinsei ( a Venusian valley, named after the Japanese name for Venus )
the super dreadnought is the Enyo  (n the Greek goddess of war and destruction )
and the 3 replenishment vessels will be the
UNSC  Politician ( thank you Charlie_c67)
UNSC Richard Montgomery
UNSC Hakudo Maru

ive also got the robot with hand to hand claws finished to the point its ready for flocking ( i dont use these as combat robots normally, they are used as cargo movers akin to the power loader in Aliens)
so i will be breaking out the flock as ive that and the 3 street violence figs to do now.

35 figures   3 pieces of scenery.  ( all 5 ships are multi parts so like cavalry count as 2 figures each)

feeling reasonably happy with the output so far  ;D     Ive also got the flesh on the GZG combat nuns and a couple of the street violence figs that were ready, and a couple more  bits on the AVRE.
