" the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) is proudly bridging the generations with a unique "Past Meets Present" initiative. For the first time, four of our iconic historic aircraft have been repainted to perfectly mirror the liveries of their modern-day operational counterparts."

Hmm, in that case shouldn't the Chippie be all black, like current trainers?

Ah no, then they wouldn't have to change them as they WERE all black anyway!  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Spectators at 2026 airshows will see the following exclusive commemorative schemes:
• Dakota: Repainted in the tactical grey of the Airbus A400M Atlas.
• Spitfire: Sporting the low-visibility grey of the Typhoon FGR4.
• Hurricane: Reimagined in the radar-absorbent aesthetic of the F-35B Lightning.
• Chipmunk: Finished in the striking modern training colors of the Grob Prefect T1.

I do like the Dakota pattern. That would be easy to do RW. Someone should do that for a show just to watch people's faces.

They're flipping brilliant! The blackbird looks fantastic in that colour scheme.
Perfect is the enemy of Finished. I presume. I've never achieved either.

In the lower left corner of the SR-71 pic is a scale-o-rama of an F-16 in Pan Am colors. Awesome!
I wish I could have been there for that show!

Don't let ageing get you down, it's too hard to get back up

That Weymouth works REALLY well.

Could well be worth doing in plastic.
