I've always wondered how Electras flew with such short wings, and with that that heavyweight fuselage (and especially that FIN) I'm even more surprised that the turbo-B-50 can.  :o
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

it is often said that any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage,
but it is not exactly the case here ...

Wow! All that needs is the Grumman E-2 Hawkeye rotodome,  I'm going to have to buy another two kits!

So the Stirling will get the B-50s wings and engines?

That'd be a HUGE improvement on the original!

I misread that as onion & Stirling.  And I didn't think that was unusual!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Yes, from some angles, but it does make you realise how short the Stirling's wingspan was having been made to fit in with existing hangar dimensions.

I've read somewhere that that wasn't actually the case, but it was a convenient 'excuse' for the Stirling's lack of altitude performance.

I think it was an Aeroplane Magazine article, but I'm not 100% sure.

That's interesting Kit. To be honest I've always assumed it was true because it sounded like the type of thing the MOD and other Government bodies would do, but there again those various bodies also have a long history of spin (before the word was used in that sense) and excuse making
