I was going to write a rant about one particular member of this forum who appears to have a complete misunderstanding or inability to read English, despite having been born and raised in the UK. I have calmed down though, so what I have just written will do.

If the person in question is me I apologise, I get confused and sometimes disorientated due to my medical condition. So many questions but since no living person has survived four pulmonary embolisms at once apart from myself, I don't know what normal is anymore.

As I'm a retired teacher, I ought to be a revolting pedant...............but as far as I'm concerned, language is for communication and if a piece with dubious spelling or non standard grammar communicates its meaning adequately, it will do for me.

That said, I'm always gratified to read perfectly spelled, grammatically accurate items

I use Grammarly for its ability, as a Large Language Model, to understand fairly well, how to spell words and punctuate sentences far better than I ever have.

I always thought that retired teachers always knew how words were spelt?

Should we ask if you buried them?

Perhaps it's a case of Two Rules.

Rule One: The Teacher is always right

Rule Two: If the Teacher is wrong, Rule One applies.

This applies to wives as well

While posting about the new tracks I received yesterday, I realised that one of the kits I bought at Telford was not by whom I had thought it was. I had expected that the Chieftain Mk.10 I had bought was by Takom, it is in fact by Meng. This surprised me, as I didn't know that Meng had released a Chieftain kit, of any mark. The tracks look very similar, no option really, and both manufacturers have the rubber blocks as separate pieces, hence my buying the single-piece click together tracks. I have ended up putting them in the Chieftain Marksman box, which I have previously started work on. Another one of those "I should really do some more to" builds. Saying that, that would encompass half the kits in my modelling room if I went that route.

Take care and build on, Alistair. Your work often keeps my mojo alive.

I wish my mojo would stay active though. Too many things to do, not all modelling related. I have a couple of sections of wall to paint in the bathroom, and although I have the time, I don't have the motivation. I need to work out how I am applying the barrier sheet to the 3D cabinet. I do know that I am going to use double-sided tape that is intended for use with carpets; it's a matter of which way around the material goes up.

Pellson, you have nothing whatsoever to worry about.  I am aware that you are communicating in a second language, and using it very much better than several  native English speakers I have taught!!
