Family can be.. difficult.. My thought and prayers are with you, for what it's worth.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Yeah, my one and only brother in law makes me shake my head sometimes. I hope you can at least find out where your sister is so you can visit her. If someone doesn't like it tell him to blank off.

I phoned the middle one of my three sisters, the one I get on best with, apparently the elder sister will be getting out of hospital on or just after the weekend. So not much point in visiting her if she will be home shortly afterwards. Still no word from the sole remaining brother-in-law either.

But it's still nice to see someone, even if you're getting out the next day. FWIW.

Well, it's Friday afternoon and no word from the brother-in-law. So if my sister asks me why I didn't go visit her, I will tell her in no uncertain terms why.

After all the faff with the brother-in-law, I had a message from sister number two, the best of the bunch, that sister number one arrived home yesterday. I popped around earlier this evening and chatted a bit. Apparently, the in-law said he had phoned the house phone, although there is no sign of a missed call on it. Anyway, apart from missing the best part of two days, she is not doing too badly. I then popped around to see sister number two, only a couple of hundred yards away, if that, and chatted with her for a while.
I have a doctor's appointment for Thursday after work, to see about getting checked for susceptibility to brain aneurysms, as the main Hospital for treating the condition can screen people who have had two primary family members with the condition. My father suffered one at the start of Covid, and now one of my sisters so my sisters and I qualify for getting checked. Both my sisters have seen their Doctor's already, I see mine in two days' time as I write this.

Sounds like a good plan. Take care of yourself.

Indeed.

As for the family ? It's always best to at the very least keep on friendly terms. You only get one bite at family, and I speak from some experience negotiating rifts (not my own) in mine.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I found out yesterday after I got home from work that sister one had got home on the Monday. I went around a bit later to see how she was. The In-Law said he phoned my house phone last week, on inspection there was no sign of any missed call and I certainly didn't hear it go while I was at home.

Right first and last letter, I'd have picked different 2nd and 3rd myself...

Families are always difficult, I hope for all of you that some better understanding can be come to, though I also know that can be difficult when some of the other side don't want to play their part.

I had a doctor's appointment late this afternoon. I have now been referred for tests to see if I have any latent aneurysms.

Better to find out ahead of time!
Are they checking the brain only or all of you?
