Prodigy. To me, it has a rather Star Wars feel to it, not sure why. But quite enjoyable.

That's it. I couldn't think of the name when writing about it.

Not had much to say here for a bit.

Last Sunday, my ex messaged me to say that her mum had passed away. That's both her dad and her mum, having passed since I have known her. A few of you, OGL and a few others have met Ailsa in the past, as she enjoyed going to the Scottish model shows with me. She never really got over her dad's passing, which is why she is my ex, as she couldn't manage a relationship as well as what she was going through. So I have been a little distracted at times with my thoughts.

Modelling-wise, I got myself another year's worth of Airfix Club membership. I have succumbed to ResKit's sale. A base which could be useful for the P.1121 build, and a possible exhaust for it as well. To round off the shopping cart, I added a set of Firestreak missiles and 3D decals for a GWH A-10C I have in my stash. Several parts have also been purchased from Hannants, including more navigation lights, some decals and an eduard Bf-109-G10 ProfiPack, which at just shy of £14 was a bit rude to have passed up.

I hope to get some work done of the P.8's over the weekend so I can free up the jig for the P.1121 later. I am now starting to rethink how I model that build, considering the base I have bought for it. Rather than taking the nose cone off the aircraft, I may well just have the nose folded with the radar still inside it. So I will have to see if I can come up with the backend of the radar, just like the blackdog detail set I bought last month.

Life is never easy.

There is also the folded nose from the Airfix Phantom FG1
Project Cancelled SIG Secretary, specialising in post war British RN warships, RN and RAF aircraft projects. Also USN and Russian warships

Personal things have been keeping me away from being particularly active on the modelling bench.

Last weekend, I found out that my ex's mum had died, and then today, I found out that one of my sisters had a brain aneurysm. She has had surgery and will be ok. All the information about my sister came from one of my other sisters, so some information could be lost in translation as it were.

Thankfully, all three of my sisters are younger than myself. This means that as a much younger person, I avoided getting hand-me-down clothes.

But did they get yours?   :-\
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

I tended to wear things out so even if I grew out of them they were in no condition to pass on.

Liking the SAAB theme there, Alistair. Also impressed by the house remodelling. Good work there. And nice job having snuck in half the Gulf War B-52 camouflage on the floor..  ;)
I tried suggesting the classic RN Deck Green at home but that was vetoed out. Ah, well..  ;D

You must have been digging through the previous postings in this thread Pellson, a lot of that happened years ago.

Quite possible as I'm surfing on my phone right now. The carpet is still nice, though. But if you're correct - where's the two-engined J32? ;)

Still a mental work in progress.

A long term project design phase, I see. You and I both, then (re project schedules). Great minds think alike and all that..  ;D

Slight update on the sister. She was visited by her husband and their two sons. She only recognised the youngest son  :-\  Not to worry, blood tests were done and she was found to be low on sodium, so hopefully with some more of that pumped into her, she will be back to what passes for normal. I plan to visit her on Friday in the afternoon, far less hassle with traffic in and around Edinburgh early afternoon than there would be from 4 pm on weekdays, which would be the only other times I could easily get there. I work in Livingston, which is fairly close to Edinburgh, which would be easy to see her, other than the mentioned traffic.
I had been wondering why I had not been seeing any posts from Britmodeller for over a week. I eventually found that I had accidentally added them to my spam folder  :banghead:  Once all the posts were returned to my email inbox, I had over 1,000 unread emails  Fortunatly I get an email for each post to threads that I follow, so getting rid of the older posts to a subject was not too much of a problem. Well, other than a couple of topics which have "punctuation" that Yahoo doesn't like when I search by subject line. This is a very easy way to catch up. Search by subject line, Select All, press K + Shift at the same time and mark all the selected messages as read, deselect the top-most message, then press Bin. I still had over almost two weeks' worth of emails to read. Some posts that I was catching up on were as far back as the middle of last month  Managed to catch up to the start of the weekend, far more manageable

My former fiancée's mum's funeral was today. I had taken the day off work as timings would have been awful for trying to work in the afternoon. I does mean that I have managed to catch up on the backlog of messages from Britmodeller. No information from my brother-in-law about which hospital my sister is in. I have a low opinion of him, and he is failing to live up to it. My opinion is along the lines of wondering which is higher, his I.Q. or his shoe size? I'm not betting on the former either.

Way too hot to do any model serious making, I have marked a panel that needs a hole cut out of it, and that's it.  :-\
