What about Solingen aka "The City of Blades"? Would also allow you to call one Klingenthal, though that may be slightly more awkward due to the history of the area....

Ok, this will be the "F300 Rhein". The second ship of this class will be the "F301 Weser". And no, I only build one of those....

Adding the four CIWS

Aircraft lift with a little view inside the hangar

CIWS, 30mm auto-cannons and life rafts added

The bottle of "Contacta" in those images really does help to visualise the size of this project. Smaller than I thought.

The Revell Tarawa model I use as the base for this ship is in 1/720 and it is about 34 cm long.
I usually make 1/700 sale models as the bigger ones need too much space to store them :)

Testing the air wing on the deck

Don't know if I should add the antennas at the edge of the flight deck as the original model had.

Only slow progress on the F300, but at least the stand for it is growing.

Back from the vacation, my Engineer and I brought a nice souvenir with us: COVID. Oh great!

So the last days was no chance to build something, my engineer was knocked out a bit.

But now, some progress on the F300 Rhein: Stand is completed and the first decals are added.
