Yeah but Kit, biplanes are basically monoplanes with what would be long-span high aspect ratio wings were they not stacked vertically 😉

Quote from: Beermonster58 on Yesterday at 02:47:35 AMI've got an original Airfix Hawker Hart of similar vintage and, it's odd that it's actually quite finely moulded in comparison to the DH-88!

I've got one too, still in its plastic bag. Not sure I'd ever build it though, after all, it's a BI-PLANE! :(

And might be worth a coin or two...

Now that's an interesting viewpoint... ;)

Has anyone converted a biplane into a single? (that's likely a Silly Question, right there, but it's Friday evening and my brain's a bit Fried...)

Many moons ago I converted a WW I era biplane into a parasol winged monoplane. I'm sure it's on here somewhere ? I need to check when I get back home
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I actually did parasol and monoplane versions of the SE 5a

Er, yes Dave, I can see where you're coming from, but they still don't fit my definition of 'longer wings'. Plus there's all those WIRES and stuff to fit on too.

I've only ever built one biplane, the Audax conversion I did for my Dad's 80th birthday, and that's now on my sideboard to remind me not to be so silly to try and build another one!  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit
