three more done. Thats 19 so far this year.
Westland Whirlwind HAS-9. HMS Endurance, South Atlantic 1972.

If this build was on wheels it would be 100% real world. use the floats from the base kit and you have whiff.
Italeri UH-19 kit with the Rotercraft HAS-9 conversion and decal set. Mix of Gunze (dayglo) and CJ aerosol (RAF Blue/Grey) paints on this.
Im not sure if any UK Whirlwind ever used floats operationaly. Might have done in trials thou.
This build was started at the Smallspace sci fi show at the begining of the month. Just like the RAF SAR Puma from last year.
Another long term hanger queen. Eurocopter Dauphin. 815 NAS RN/FAA. Ships SAR flight HMS Queen Elizabeth 2019.

This build started around 5-6 years ago, and was going to be a real world bird leased to the Navy for 2nd line support work.
The ball started rolling again as I was spraying the dayglo on the whirlwind HAS 9. I had far to much paint in the airbrush. So this one got rapidly dusted off and masked up. There was a choice of end user with this one. another but later Ice patrol bird or plane gaurd duties for Big Lizzy. Lizzy won!
Old Matchbox kit with a resin nose from S&M models. Gunze paints all the way on this one.
Yet another hanger queen. Shorts Seamew MR-2 of 269sqn, RAF Ballykelly. 1956.

One of the older Magna resins Kit. Started about 18 months-2 years ago. It stalled when i found the kit was missing its nose part. Soon enougth Geoff B lent me his Seamew kit to clone the missing part. That kit has since been transfered to my stash as Geoff no longer wanted/needed it.
being a typical Magna kit it needed a lot of work. Hence why it kept getting put to one side.
It was always going to be an RAF MR-2 thou. Originaly leaving the field clear for Geoff to do a Navy AS-1. Momentum finaly picked up a bit just after the Coventry show so here she is. Gunze dark sea Grey on this. Decals from various sets from the decal box. The codes and squadron badge came from a 1/144th scale shackleton sheet from S&M models that i picked up ready for this build at this years Cosford show.
