Looks like a mini-Yak15.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

But which jet engine?  A Napier Oryx perhaps?................or would a "Jetex"   toy engine be sufficient?   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jetex

Perhaps a Turbomeca Palas.

Turbomeca Palas on Minijets site

The Palas was used on the SIPA 300 and several other aircraft and projects.



The Minijets site is a great resource for small engines and the aircraft they power/powered, along with unbuilt
projects, the basic organization of the site is by engine output.
