Indeed so, but how did they start the ramjets? Something would have to have spun up the rotor before they'd work.

I can find two systems in the variety of different versions: one used a petrolpowered compressor tp provide compressed air to spin the blades, the other used a small electric motor.

So not a ground-crewman shouting "CONTACT" and spinning the blades then?   :-\

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
