I agree that combining the Decommission and Recommission into one group build would work, but the Restoration GB is a very different subject.  Especially if it were to include the trading of models for someone else to restore.

I am intrigued by this group build idea, especially if we swap models and someone else gets to restore something they didn't expect.

The Restoration GB idea is developing into a GB idea where participants swap built models to restore, which I think would require it to be seperate.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

The USMC wants an escort for their V-22s and brings back the OV-10 or Skyraider.

V-22 top speed: 315 mph
OV-10 top speed: 288 mph
AD-7/A-1J top speed: 343 mph

But what are their loiter speeds? As the V-22s are landing, you don't want your escort zooming away.
(Actually, let's not hijack this thread. We could start a new one elsewhere - escorting helos and V/STOLs.)
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

B-47 with heavily upgraded, miniaturized electonic countermeasures, better engines  of which there are six still.

Curtiss Jenny:  US Postal Service through WW-II as a materials-conservation effort.   Uprated, more reliable engines, instruments, cabin heat/cooling, better materials, and improved carrying capacity.      The reissued Lindberg kit ought to work well yes?

The U.S.P.S. switched to DH-4s as soon as they became available after W.W. I because they could carry more and were a bit faster.

Still, I can see a Jenny or a DH-4 with an enclosed canopy and...

...wait for it...

SPATS!!!

Option 1: If it had better engines, you could reduce the number to four which would make it look like half a Buff.  Maybe fit it with the TF33 engines that were fitted to the C-141 Starlifter?  That would give it more than enough oooooooompf to get off the ground with a load.

Option 2: Kit bash a B-47 with the engines from a B-58 and reduce the engine count to four and it would look almost as good as something fitted with spats!  The four J79 engines would certainly put out more than enough thrust to get the B-47 off the ground in a record breaking short take off roll.

Brian,

Make sure your Jenny has the following serial number: 8675309 and the pilot is Tommy Tutone  :)
