Quote from: Rick Lowe on Yesterday at 10:27:49 PMNo, why aren't the Japanese firing at the Aussies?
If it's the Front Line, they're pretty casual about the chances of return fire.

But it could be mis-captioned, or a PR shot.

Love it!  ;)

Not sure I'm joking, really.

Most of the troops in that shot are 7Div 2AIF & had probably seen action from North Africa (including Tobruk), through Kokoda, the PNG Campaign, Bougainville, etc.

Being shot at was just another day at the office for those blokes!

And some combat photographers have huge shiney brass ones! Another thing that's caused photographers to get into trouble is seeing the entire world through a viewfinder. I've done a fair bit of alligator photography in the Everglades, and you have to consciously peel your eyes away from the camera when moving around, lest you become breakfast.  :o  Ditto for being in a fog of bullets.

What an amazing woman, and just typical of Hoover that he reckoned she was 'dangerous'. Madness.
