I went to the opening day at Fairford and at long last saw some of my taxpayer's pounds sitting still in mid-air and making a lot of noise, albeit still not as loud as Typhoon in full burner, which has to be the noisiest aircraft on the planet!

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Saw two CF-18's roar off runway 35L at YYC today at about mid-day.  I think they were in Calgary for the opening day of this years Calgary Stampede, which was today, and probably did a fly past during the opening ceremonies. EDIT: mrs kitnut says she saw them doing just that.

I was in the Lake District all last week but I saw no military jets. I came home on Thursday, leaving Keswick at 11am. That afternoon I got a message saying that there were several loud jets over Keswick and quite possibly they were F-35s!

Can anyone confirm or deny this?  :-\ :banghead:

Great stuff !

These two went over, looks like a Jumgmann in Swiss markings and a Pitts, I'm guessing heading to the US of A for an airshow.

Spotted a Catalina flying boat heading over my road this afternoon, must have just taken off from North Weald.
Deep engine growls!

While driving around the perimeter road at the end of runway 17R/35L at YYC today, two CF-188's whizzed over my truck with a terrific roar, put a crick in my neck just rubber necking just to see them.  Then later a CT-114 took off followed by another about a hour after that. Said CT-114's were of the 'Snowbird' variety -----  ;D

EDIT: mrs kitnut has just told me she seen a fighter whiz past the house as I was writing the above --- and I thought I had heard thunder ---

Driving into Leominster this morning, a Tornado heading towards Wales  at VERY low altitude.  I was driving so didn't get a good look  but Madame R informs me that the driver had brown eyes........

Later this afternoon, a thunderous din above my garage, when I poked my head out of the door there was the tail of a Hercules just vanishing behind the tree line having apparently just flown out of Wales....

Has Aberystwyth seceded from the country, or are the Tafia getting uppity again?

Could be either, the FoD Defence Force patrols returning from border duty down the Bream Rd. this morning seemed to be a trifle stressed, and some of the ammo mags they carried were obviously empty............

Nice! a company here in Canada called Northern Lights Combat Air Support operates 12 ex-Swiss Hunters in the same roll. They also have some A-4's (ex RNZAF) and I think some Alpha Jets (ex Luftwaffe).

Already got some decals to do one of the Revell kits I have

That's like the one in my pic at Fairford, the guy there said they were very busy doing stuff for the RAF, FAA and RAE. I suggested that Hunters were like Canberras, the only type that could replace them were more Hunters, and he agreed.  ;D
