Yes, almost straight wing, two small jets on the tail, got to be a bizjet.

Had very very low cloud here the other day and I went outside on hearing a plane coming over.  I was a small single engined thing (looked vaguely like a Cessna 172) at about 100 feet but only just visible in the cloud base.  I did wonder if it was supposed to be that low.

That Tunnen looks great.  Someone should re-pop the Matchbox one.

Saw a Spitfire trucking down the Severn Estuary today.  ;D

It was remarkably high, usually they're down around 2-3000 ft but this one must have been up around 8000, so I couldn't see which mark it was, but sounded more Merlin than Griffon.

Needless to say my camera was at home and I wasn't...........  :banghead:

By Canadian standards almost anywhere in the UK is 'near an aerodrome that is home to warbirds', it being such a small island.  ;D

There's certainly loads of Spitfires flying in the UK, it's almost a cottage industry here for the guys re-building them. But being a Hurricane loving nut, seeing FOUR of them in formation at Fairford this year was just fantastic!

Lets hope knee jerk restrictions resulting from the Hunter crash at Shoreham don't ground them.

I think they will be ok. The authorities seem to be concentrating on vintage types doing aerobatics and most of the piston types don't in displays. Straight forward demonstration flights should be ok - touching all the wood availble

BTW the pilot in that crash is out of hospital but the police still haven't interviewed him
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Captain Canada

Not sure how many mooglie pixels the new camera is ( Nikon D3200 ) but with a 200 zoom and auto focus it's pretty incredible.I'm looking into an even bigger lens. I think I'd really enjoy watching the skies then ! I should also keep that air traffic app open as well, so I can see if anything of interest is cruising overhead.

not exactly over my house, but I am travelling in New England these days, and saw (and heard : not the usual sound) this biplane above Cape Cod

Captain Canada

That's cool. We had a red biplane buzzing around us when we were in Ottawa, and also when we were at Mackinac Island ! Must be a conspiracy....

I think that's a WACO of some kind, Eric. Very nice!
