On the last C-130 photo what are the devices on the wing tips that look like Sidewinder rails?
Great photos, I hope you get the chance for more.

They look very like the "Orange crop" ESM pods that a lot of the RAF Hercs carried.

Over everyone's house last night was the moon right next to Venus. Beautiful! It was in the western sky so I think the folks down under got to see it too.

A Honey Buzzard ;D. Quite the rarity in the UK, summer visitor from Africa. Getting the **** mobbed out of it by two crows and a seagull.

There was a Griffon Spitfire orbiting over Staverton as I passed by y'day, but it was up-sun from me and I couldn't identify the actual aircraft.  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Been a while since I posted anything on the forum.

A standard April day in beautiful Comox, BC. This morning I watched the Snowbirds practice while doing yard work. Right after that, the CF-18 performed his show. Both are in town until Wednesday. They have been here almost two weeks. The CF-18 is has the upper fuselage painted in a Battle of Britain scheme. I do believe it has 401 Sqn markings. Sharp looking machine. He blew by my place, not far from CFB Comox, and must have been close to going supersonic!!

And the bonus today!! I have a 13:20L flight with the Snowbirds!!! Probably in the number 3 machine. Been trying for almost 25 years to get-up with them. Finally, I hope! Last two days were cancelled due to weather. Weather is sunny with some clouds. Should be fun.

What a friggin hoot!!! The most fun I have done flying, flying with the Snowbirds!! A gorgeous day with big blue sky, and lots of aerobatics. My pilot in number 3 was a good guy, always talking me through what is about to come. Sno surprises. Pulled anywhere between +5 and -3 G's for 45 mins. Sweated like a stuff pig, and now ready for a nap. I used a GoPro and if the video turns out, I will attempt to upload it. That won't be until Tuesday, as it is not mine. The highlight of my 30 year military career.

We've got a couple of those around our property too --  and coming home from work a couple of weeks ago I saw a Bald Eagle sitting in a tree. The crows and magpies were mobbing it though ---

Saw a red and white chopper the other day, up by Welland. A squirrel or whatever it was. Today the pipeline patrol flew right over the shop. of course the camera was in my bag but my hands were covered in grease !
