Actually, nice detail shot of the underside. Lots of extra lumps and bumps under there.

Is that paint or metal finish?  I ask because if it's paint there's a lot more variation in colour between panels than i'd expect.

I was thinking the same thing. Is that the landing gear door area that looks bare metal?

As far as I can tell it's all paint. I've uploaded some more pics, they might help, especially the last one.

Thanks Sticky.  In one of your pics the flaps and ailerons all look different shades of grey but then in another they don't so maybe it's all to do with the angle to the light.

The unmistakable shape of a B-52 hauled out of Fairford (presumably......) over me yesterday. I've not seen one of those smokers in these parts for a considerable time. i wonder what he was doing???

Captain Canada

Sweet ! Lucky you. I'd like to find where one is flying this summer and take my son to see it.

I'm rather lucky in that Fairfoird's main runway points almost directly at my house, albeit 30-40 miles away. But a -52 climbs so slowly that it's still at quite a low level by the time it gets here  ;D at least if it's heading west anyway.

Local SAR unit (40th Squadron, Belgian AF) at Koksijde AB recieved a new toy today, the first of 4 NH90-NFH's  ;D
this is in fact the second NFH model delivered, the first one, RN01, was delivered in august last year, but is currently in France for crew conversion training.
this one, RN02, is the first one to arrive at its new base, straight from the factory at Donauwörth, Germany

took this picture earlier today  ;D

Going with all gray low vis roundels seems like a terrible idea in that neck of the woods.

About an hour ago an An-74 took off from Prestwick and headed north east towards Stavanger,
CAVOK Air , but I have no idea what the final destination was.
Just did not have the camera to hand at the time, damn!  :banghead:

First one that I have seen, or HEARD. It sounded strange.

they said the same thing with the earlier delivered TTH models, thats why they now have the high-vis roundels.
