Ok, it may not be unusual to see two  Blackhawks  in the sky.
It is however as rarer than Halleys Comet to see two of these landing and then taking off from 'a central London location'....

Most likely HH/MH-60's of the 67th SOS out of Mildenhall.

As for the Hereford Gun Clubs A109's, the 2 captured Argentine birds are now in museum stores. ZE410 at Middlewallop and ZE411 at Yeovilton. Most likely being repainted in their first owners markings.

That is a fantastic paint job. I remember when this type of paint first became available, guess who were the first car company to offer it as a factory option?

TVR?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Saw a trio of dark grey civil helicopters over London today, they were long and thin and looked like Agusta 109s. I thought they might have been the 1st Hereford Wolf Cubs personal transport. Trouble is that the UK doesn't operate those any more.
But Google tells me I might have seen the Dauphin 2's which replaced the 109s for that certain role...

There's been an Army Lynx or Bell 212 landing a lot in Wellington Barracks lately, it's standard camo with a dayglo orange engine surround and underside arrow markings. Very outstanding. I wonder if it's bringing the Generals to London to discuss the latest round of cuts to the Army...

Its a bell 212  a quick glance to the front makes look lynx like, bit the longer body and "huey" look and a bit of web bashing provides greater probability  of the Bell.
This was the one from this week, apologies about the blurry phone cam

Had a T-45 Goshawk, either from Oceana or Pax River, come into ACY for a touch and go while I was waiting for the light.

Skoda  ;D

They offered a Favorit, iirc, at something like 6x the normal price of the car.

I didn't see any aircraft over the house today ... because I spent the whole day at an airshow not too far from home: Jämi Fly In & Airshow. You get close to the flying there and during the breaks you can get close to the aircraft and the pilots. Conditions were not perfect on Sunday but most of the show went as planned. Among the photos I took, I found a few that are tolerable by my standards.

Unfortunately, the weather didn't co-operate on Sunday 08 July, so I didn't see it fly.

Pitts S-1S OH-XPA
I first saw it flying in 1970s. OH-XPA has its 40th birthday on 13 July 2012. It has just gone through a complete overhaul, including new covering and a fresh paint job in a classic Pitts style.

Here's somebody's video of the Fokker, taken on Saturday when conditions were better:

A very unusual sight literally over my place this morning. A V22 Osprey!! Must be in town for the Farnborough airshow, but kinda impressive all the same.

Army Air Corps Apache seen over Croydon flying south west at 17:30 bst.

No riots in Croydon at the moment, so no real need for that level of aircover!

Perhaps on its way to Farnbough?

Maybe, although Olympics airspace restrictions start to kick in from midnight tonight so may be prepositioning.  Might just be a coincidence of course..

That thing drives me mad at about 2 in the morning when it's just circling around. You never find out why they kept you awake all night, probably filming for BBC, Channel 4 or 5  and one of their "lets follow a policeman, ambulance man" type programme so they can waste the rest of the money on helping Andrew Lloyd Webber advertise his next show :banghead:

Probably chasing a local scallie, if where you are is anything like where I live. Can always tell when it's the Plodcopter rather than the Navy - the shriek of the NOTAR is very distinctive in the wee small hours.... :banghead:

Around 5.30 this afternoon, the peace and quiet was destroyed by a very fast moving and low Red Arrows Hawk all on its own, headed due east. No sign of its play mates.
