The Blackhawks could be Hereford, but I thought they usually milled around in the Super Pumas? (who knows what happens with the inner workings of the regiment?)
I think it could be Americans paying a visit, probably Olympics related - or there's a story to hit the news in the not to distant future...
The inner London Location isn't Battersea (but, I think you knew that)  ;D

Following on from the Blackhawks, and on a subject complimentary to KitBashers photos - something much more interesting!
More Bomber Command Memorial Photos.

But why, and who's, Blackhawks?

US State Department?

They carried out the same sort o' funny business at the Sydney Olympics.   They are responsible for US Olympians' security IIRC.

just had a funny one over here , a p38 lightning in silver with usaaf markings at very low level, 500 feet  at the most and slow in formation with a robinson 22 helicopter heading south down the coast
Me, I'm dishonest, and you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest.
Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

A P-38:o

Strewth, some people have all the luck!

I bet the R-22 was flat out and the P-38 almost at the stall....  ;D

One of my best moments was as we were taxing to take off at Chicago O'Hare (certain it was that airport) a P-38 with full D-Day stripes landed on the runway adjacent to us  ;D ;D

And if you don't let them, they'll stamp their feet and take their Athletes home with them!  ;D

We  had 2 Pumas flying in formation over Leeds yesterday. It looked to me likr they were practising approahes to the LGI's helipad (local major hospital and trauma centre).

Saw a trio of dark grey civil helicopters over London today, they were long and thin and looked like Agusta 109s. I thought they might have been the 1st Hereford Wolf Cubs personal transport. Trouble is that the UK doesn't operate those any more.
But Google tells me I might have seen the Dauphin 2's which replaced the 109s for that certain role...

There's been an Army Lynx or Bell 212 landing a lot in Wellington Barracks lately, it's standard camo with a dayglo orange engine surround and underside arrow markings. Very outstanding. I wonder if it's bringing the Generals to London to discuss the latest round of cuts to the Army...
