That "Dreamlifter" looks just like a snake that has swallowed a rat!
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

So, maybe like this??

I understand that the nickname for the Dreamlifter is the "DRAG QUEEN"

They are just physical manifestations of collisions between enigma & conundrum particles.

Wasn't that what the RAF called the first Belfasts?

[Later] No, I remember now, it was the 'Drag Master'. The upgraded versions with the strakes alongside the rear doors were called 'Fast Backs'.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Not the sort of thing that happens too often around here, yesterday (Thu) around 1130 or so a Tornado very low, quite slow, went through, seemed to be following the coastline - just over the beach from my perspective - toward Warton or even the Lake District, difficult to tell. At work today and the same thing happened again, except the aircraft was a wee bit higher and appeared to be heading northwest into Liverpool Bay.

Interestingly, because it's a wee bit hazy today over the river, the aircraft virtually disappeared at approx one mile away - yes grey camouflage is extremely boring to most modellers, but it's bl**dy effective in the real world !!

Not today, but on Friday, I saw an C-17 flying at about 2000 feet on final approach to Selfridge at my house.  Dang, that thing is big!

Hehehehe . . . After seeing one parked next to a C-5, it sort of shrinks, though . . .

Same here! I saw both side by side at Le Bourget in June and was shocked by the difference!

Here's a pic of just how different they are (both 1/72 scale).

As said not as big as a C-5 but doing 80% of what the C-5 use to haul. The C-17 was designed to have the utility of a C-130, more capacity of a C-141 and haul such things as an Abrams tank which until the C-17 came along only a C-5 could do.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

The Czech AF were taking one of their W-3 Sokol helicopters for a spin over town today.

I tried to snap a couple of pics with my mobile camera, but they aren't worth posting.

I was out for a jog a bit earlier and an L-29 Delfin whistled (yes, that's what they do) over.

I got home as quick as I could and grabbed my camera in hopes of a second pass, but to no avail.
