There was a C-130 parked across the other side from the terminal today, it came sometime this morning and was there all day. Couple of strange things about it though, firstly it was parked on Million Air's ramp (they usually go to Apron 6 where the Shell building is), and secondly, it had no markings that you could see. It did look like there was a serial number half way between the wing and tail plane but I couldn't make out what it was except it was a darker grey. It was a light grey all over with a black nose radome, I could see that it had an oval (oblong) type bump just behind and a bit lower than the low cockpit window. Other than that, no idea who's it was

Didn't have time to get a pic but yesterday, one of the PoAF's C-212 Aviocar flew over my house just after lunch, when i was leaving for work.
Loved the noise of the engines, such a cool sound.

Not over my house and not today, but still interesting to share. Canada Day (July 1), Niagara Falls:
#1 - The "usual suspect" - Lancaster from Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton. BTW they have a show today, don't miss it (for those who are in the area).

#2 - Something I haven't seen that often:

And a photo not from the sky but from the...middle of the fall:

No, it's not a prop from the movie "Niagara"! ;D

The history behind is quite intriguing:

I couldn't even imagine that this wreck was there during the last 99 years! :o

I had a Lancaster fly by today, AND the Red Arrows too!

I was at a car club event in Leicestershire and they both came by at around a 10 min interval heading NE at around 5 pm, so I guess they were both RTBing after an airshow in the south somewhere.

Why's the guy snogging Monroe in that poster wearing what looks like a suit of armour ?

Those were the raincoats given to the visitors at that time (or at least shown in the movie) - thick and rubberized.

Nowadays you get a plastic poncho, thin like a garbage bag.

The BoBMF Lamc I saw y'day came over again today! This time I was ready for it, but my long focus lens refused to work  :banghead: so I had to use the short focus zoom, with the result below. No doubt it's the Lanc.

Right, understand  It's just that the water droplets are so symetrical that they look like rivets in the partial shot of the poster

Just as neared my home this evening, I saw about a half mile away a sodding great big Chinook at low level. Must have scared the c£&p out of a few people in the area.

Coming on them unexpectedly can be a bit of a shock.  With the SAS lines so close to us, we're all  used to two or three of them trundling around the heavens at about 500 feet anywhere in North Herefordshire.   I've already told the story , I think, of the two chinooks thundering low over a garden centre just outside Hereford  close to SAS Credenhill.  A young mother near me pointed them  out to her toddler  with the classic line "Wave to daddy, he's going to be home in time for our tea!"

I caught a glimpse of what I swear was a B-17 north bound over the lake on the north side of Chicago today.

Yesterday at about 2pm, two CF-18's took off from the end of the runway I was near. The pilots were show-boating it a bit.  At YYC the airlines have a directive which says their aircraft have to be at least at 1000 ft before they cross over the airport property line. Well these two CF-18 pilots left it to the very last moment, they were still at about 100 feet (maybe a bit higher) when they were almost at the end of the runway, then they pulled the stick back, stuck the noses straight up and did a vertical climb at full throttle. By the time they were at the property line they were about twice as high as they needed before they leveled out and then flew northeast-ish.  I wonder what will get said about it ----
