I act as a National Trust guide on Saturdays and Mondays at Berrington Hall, 13 miles from home.  Today was KITE DAY. 10 metre dragon kites, a pink pig kite and one that looked suspiciously like a Canberra kite.  Then  on the way home a couple of Herculeses flying East from Wales, very low. They were coming at me nose on as I drove home, so no chance of photos  or even seeing registration numbers.

Day before yesterday SWMBO and I were at the local retail park, the weather was dismal, low cloud light rain, YEUGH.
As we came back to the car, sound of a low flying aircraft, it appeared and flew over us, Clearly going into PIK, but visual in those conditions ?
It did look very darkly coloured.
It now turns out that it was a USAF MC-130J which just did a go around and departed somewhere.

At about 3:30 this afternoon, VERY low, a dull green Hercules with a thundering great Union Flag  design on the tail. It looked similar to the current Red Arrows tail design, but with more white in it.   What, I wonder, was it doing low over North Herefordshire?

Perhaps a jolly outing for the Gun Club?

More likely this one, taken at Fairford, as it's the current RAF 'Show Herk'. Its fin design does look a tad like the Reds' fin design this year.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Yesterday at YYC, two Voyagers were on Apron 9, I saw one arrive and then later in the day, one left. I also saw a C-17 flying over the airport at medium height, it has quite a distinguished exhaust flow pattern and I could very easily identify it as a C-17.  Now whose C-17 is another question altogether  -----  :-\   It was heading north,north-east ---

In the recent BBC series on air travel they visited Halifax as it's had so a huge number of types land there because of it being first land fall that way across. In the control tower they have a model of every type that's landed there hanging from the ceiling. You need to try and wangle a trip to have a look Capt  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That would be nice to see ! They have a nice display in St. John's Newfoundland as well.

Whilst out deadheading roses a few minutes ago, an OV-10 Bronco!   Against the sun so I couldn't see any markings or colouring, but the silhouette could have been nothing else. Heading slightly west of south, possibly towards the Bristol Channel. Might have been a Bronco Demo Team aircraft.  They are supposed to be appearing at Culdrose at the week end.

I was sitting in a carpark by the beach this morning, enjoying a nice cup of coffee when an RAAF PC-9 came overhead.  One of the few times I've actually been able to see them, as they buzz around.  Sounded, as always like a chainsaw going flat out and flashed past.   Was under a thousand feet as well.
