Why aren't you allowed to take pictures?

Well I'm supposed to be working ---- watching other people that they aren't doing something there not supposed to be doing ---  like taking pictures

How did the pics on the Internet get taken???

Publicity shots

I don't think so, have a look at Airliners.net, there's ZILLIONS of them on there.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

And you don't have to be at the airport to get the photo either ---

Here's a pic of Phoenix AZ. taken from a viewpoint on the southside of the town and a 1000 feet higher. You can't really see it but the airport is in the top-right corner of the pic.

This one is zooming in from the same location to as close as I could with my very basic Pentax X90

Imaging what I could have photographed if I had some camera equipment that some airplane spotters drag around with them

You can get similar views of Heathrow Airport from the top of the London Eye on a good day. With basic 8x40 binoculars I could see planes landing from 17 miles away, now imagine what you could do with a mega-lens?

You get a good view of Heathrow Airport from the Air Forces Memorial at Runnymede which is dedicated to all those fliers who went missing in action over North-West Europe during WW2. Very moving place too.

Saw an Airbus A330 parked on the other side of old main runway, it was all white with a dark blue fin/rudder. I couldn't see any airline titles anywhere on it, anyone got any ideas who operates it ?  Looking on the internet, the closest I can find that looks like it, is either an SAS or Saudi airline one.

I use this web site on my iPhone when I go to Philadelphia International to do plane spotting . . .

http://www.flightradar24.com/

It can be used for iPad or other tablets, too.

Not sure where to post this, but my Bro' in the UK sent it to me. Doing a quick search reveals it was an event in 2010 ---

Where are they all going?

Looking out from the portico of the National Trust property at Berrington Hall (I volunteer there every Monday) there are 15 (YES FIFTEEN) trails visible in the sky, all going SE to NW.   Are we secretly invading the Excited States??

You mean you didn't see the glow from all the Instant Sunshine in the SE horizon?

Well exercise "Joint Warrior 2015" is well underway, and here at Prestwick we are getting our usual fair share of extra military movements.

About an hour ago we were just driving past the airport when I suddenly went "Oh! Oh! Oh!" did a rapid stop. SWMBO said she did not think you are meant stop where we were.

The reason was this just waiting to back track the runway to it's parking area.

First one I have seen.

P.S. Sorry about the quality, I only had my phone with me at the time.

Very cool ! I was really hoping ( and thinking I would have ! ) seen one when we were down in FLA. Beautiful aeroplane. Love the 737 types.

At work the other day I heard a funny noise. Ran out the front door as I was on the office side...by the time I got around to the back of the building I could only see the rear  of a chpper. Ha the shape of an AW-149 or whatever that is that Ornge Life Flight use. Sounded pretty cool too !
