That's the second time I've seen one in flight, too!  Both randomly, over the weekend, while I was just driving around wasting away a weekend down here in sunny Florida.

Cheers,

Logan

Wow, a 5-AT Tri-Motor! I've never seen one, ever, so I'm green with envy Logan.

It was really neat to see it in flight, too.  The road runs right by the executive airport in town and the timing was perfect, so it basically flew RIGHT in front of my car.  Very cool to see.

Cheers,

Logan

Nice ! That would definitely be neat to see in the air....must sound awesome !

Saw a KC-135 doing circuits off in the distance.....

The other day noticed something unusual where the airliners are supposed to be :

Then one I had forgot about. When we landed in Toronto after our UK Tour, saw this beautiful little amphibious Ontario MNR Turbo Beaver trundling along the taxiways with the big boys :

The FAA was out in force yesterday - at least one of each of their current types (SeaThing, Merlin, Lynx) were rattling around over Dorchester during the afternoon.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

I didn't see a thing but when I was walking home from grocery shopping I heard 4 "C/D Hornets" returning from an exercise in the cloudy evening darkness. The first two came straight from the north-east. The third and fourth were turning towards the glide path from the north. The third one went slow and loud earlier than the others who kept "gliding" a little longer..

Today I saw a RCAF Hercules fly low over our house here in Edmonton, not a usual sight here.  I was fumbling to take a picture, with limited luck!

Captain Canada

Always nice to see the RCAF out and about ! Can they still land at the old Namao airfield ? The Snowbirds did a beauty flypast at the opening of the Grey Cup game.

while on my way to a Job Interview, i had a nice flyby from a Belgian Navy Alouette III, with a C-130H close behind it in the background  ;D
and just when i got home, a pair of Belgian AF F-16's

Still working in Lincoln and The Red Arrows have been out a lot recently. I don't know if it is a cost saving measure but they seem to practice loops etc with non coloured smoke. Not as spectacular but still a pleasure to see.

Also had an ASTOR (?) buzzing around last week and isn't Rivet Joint supposed to turn up soon at Waddington?
If this is Upper Silesia, one can only wonder what Lower Silesia is like.

Captain Canada

Saw the CCG out doing the ice recon today, flying a Bell Jet Ranger. There were a pair of ships heading down river behind him. I'll have to go down with the camera tomorrow and see if I can get a few pics.

The Rivet Joint is supposed to be there already accoding to the aviation press.

The Reds usualy do their pre-season training at Akrotiri, I wonder if it's been moved back to Scampton as an economy measure?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I've seen a pic somewhere where it was landing and the RAF Sentrys were in the background --  It's painted a really odd scheme too

IIRC they're just back off a Middle East tour, so they may not have gone to Cyprus at all this year? Or perhaps they'll be off shortly. I know there are rumblings of some special stuff lined up for the coming season, as it's their 50th anniversary. New paint jobs, new formations, all sorts of stuff...

The Rivet Joint is is a really horrible (IMO) retro US-style paint scheme:

Looks to me like they just slapped RAF titles on the current USAF scheme. The engine covers look nice tho !
