Something more slow than usual: a hot air balloon.
It was blue with the logo of some recycling company. While I was watching, I saw some swallows flying. The birds were actually much more interesting: fast and agile  ;)

Every time I see a hot air ballon I feel thr urge to get a shot gun out and blast away at it....

Had a Puma come over low in work on Friday, and the local Police Eurocopter beating up and down the other afternoon at home.

Had two sailplanes waaaaaay up over here today, one was an LS8 but the other was too far away to recognise, but it did have long wings....  ;D

Y'day and today have been the first possible gliding days for weeks, so all the club were launching like madmen I bet.

Just found this thread.  This afternoon had an F-22 with F-16 escort circle twice around the neighborhood, presumably doing touch and goes.  Living in Fort Worth, we get a lot of strange things flying around Carswell Naval Reserve.  It's also home to Lockheed Martin.  Along with that, we have a small warbird museum at nearby Meacham that has interesting things pass through, and most nice weekends a C-47 with Invasion markings takes people on aerial tours of the city.  Cool!

Just after watching the Olympic opening ceremony on TV on Friday, we had a pair of Red Arrows come straight over our house.
Not sure where the other seven went but we reckon they were doing a special request run over another event.

Well AirVenture 2012 is now a part of history. BUT! Something that fits this thread...I had the opportunity on Sunday to ride in the world's only flying B-29 Superfortress...FIFI. We flew over my house! It has been operating out of the Appleton airport all week giving rides, and I was on the last flight.

This week on The Plastic Scale Modeling Hour, I'll share more about the flight and interview two others who were on board with me.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.
