An A-37, a light acrobatic aircraft, and a RAAF Roulette aircraft all flew displays at a military tattoo yesterday. The Roulette was rather impressive, but I must give it to the acrobatic aircraft.

Had something with radials buzzing around near my mom's...never did get a chance to see it.  Although there was a Citroen 2CV rolling down her street.

A radial engined 2CV????  Now that's something you don't see every day.

Sure you do, it's a 2 cylinder radial, with the cylinders 180 deg apart from each other.  ;D

Ah, Yes!   I'd never thought of it that way. You're right of course.

I was rather thinking of a Twin Wasp or a Bristol Hercules.   Always assuming, of course, that you could find sufficient car to bolt it on to.

I thought they used rotaries in the 2CV?  ;D

The mind boggles.......

Starting up on a cold morning and the engine stands still and the entire CAR rotates in the opposite direction!  :o :o :o

2CV is a flat two, loose a plug lead and that's you power down by 50% as once happened to a mate of mine.   ;) ;D

Could explain one rolling down the street...  ;D

I was waiting for someone to twig to that possibility.  You'd want to make very sure before starting on a really cold morning, wouldn't you?  ;D ;D

My Dad had a Citroen Visa for a while, with the ex-2CV 2 cylinder engine, so I'm quite well experienced in its foibles and idiosyncracies. Quite how they ever 'designed' it I'm not sure, it had bits just thrown at it and attached where they ended up I think. Mad it certainly was.  :banghead:

We keep seeing 365 condoms flying over London.... Sorry, I mean the Goodyear airship!

Mrs PR19 and I were at our local 'Seaside' Weston-super-Mare today, and as well as the usual sight-seeing Jet Rangers that operate from the Helicopter Museum there, we had a LOW fly past by a Thomas Cook Airbus. He wasn't just on approach to nearby Bristol Airport, for some reason ATC had cleared him for a run along the beach! I was struggling to get my camera out as everyone in sight 'Ooooh'd and 'Aaaaah'd, but to no avail.  :banghead:
