Fantastic, what a wonderful way to celebrate such a significant anniversary. I bet there aren't many other manufacturers who could do that, if only because they've all been bought, merged, amalgamated and sold into other firms.

Great to see that Viggen airborne, and I'm pleased to say I had a teeny weeny part in it being there as I installed SAAB's monster 72 channel fatigue rig for the JA37 Viggen in 1979, and I never knew they still had one flying.

It's great to see the SAAB jet range in the air.

If you count the Safir and Safari as military types, there's a lot of military SAABs still flying.

Who's in charge of those jets anyway? SAAB, Flygvapnet, or someone else? Fouga Magister is the only former Finnish military jet that I have any hopes of ever seeing in the air.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

 :o :o :o :o Amazing!

In fact, it is such a breathtaking picture that it has left Hawkeye speechless!!!

A lone Griffon engined Spitfire flew over the house today heading due south. Dunno what it would be doing in this neck of the woods. and it wasnt in a hurry either.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

All the better so you could hear that wonderful engine sound for longer.  ;D

We had two Pumas over here y'day, so close to each other I'm  surprised they didn't smack rotors together! They were pretty low but didn't fly UNDER the Old Severn Bridge, darn it.  :banghead:

This lot made quite a racket as they went past. ;D Heading for Portland just as it got dark, hence the grainy photo (taken in a great hurry, leaning out of my bedroom window on the fourth floor!).

Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Earlier to-day my good lady wife and I wewre sitting out in our back garden having lunch. It was a beautiful day here in SW Scotland with not a cloud in the sky but slightly cool. There was not a lot of high level traffic to see but one heading NW bound caught my eye. I had a look at it and said "C-17".
SWMBO looked up and said "I can only see one"
Enough said  mind you she did spot the Voyager K1 that did a go-around here at Prestwick the other day.

I've gotten a couple of lucky shots from the new house the last couple of weeks.

USAF C-32B

The CAF's B-29 "Fifi" was here a couple of weeks ago, and I managed to snag this very poor shot one afternoon as it buzzed the house.

This one's from March.  I was walking along Apalachee Parkway in Tallahassee one afternoon when this replica Curtiss D flew over.

It's not everyone that has the opportunity to take a shot of an airborne B-29!  :o :o :o

Looked like it...

Had a VC-32B out of Andrews just buzz over on a rather short final into KACY for a touch and go.
