Dug this one out of the stash for a fun build...hard to believe how much detail you get for 20 bucks!

   Salt chipping:

    some interior work:

fiddly bits on the sail (note the octopus logo )

Captain Canada

Nice one, Gurg ! The weathering looks wicked. I like the gun turrets as well.

D'Oh!  At first, I did not focus on the Thread Title to understand it was a 1:144 naval subject so I thought the first pics were of a 1:144 scale aircraft COCKPIT interior.

I was nearly sick.  Visions of mudpies blending with knitting supplies...

Okay, it's a 1:144 sub, yes?  I feel a little less panicked now.

Is this a practice piece for the ginormous GATO you're working on?

Greg, are you using paint or ink to shade under the pipes and such? I've never seen this technique before but your results are terrific!

Yowsa that's some simply astounding work Greg! You must have the eyes of an eagle to pull this off.

I suddenly feel the urge to watch "Das Boot" again...

Thanks!  Not the eyes of an eagle, but a good magnifying glass helps...I use a series of technical pens for the shading, it really makes the piping stand out, and works for all the little figures on the dials, on top of that, they are inexpensive, around a buck or so each, and come in different colours.  Hit your nearest art store!

Finally done with the forward torp room, it is somewhat sad to cover up detail, but hey, that's life, right?

I built this marvel some years ago OOB Real World. I really enjoyed.

Your job is super
Will die without understanding this world.

Mr. Greg, I am really, really Impressed with this build so far. The walls look so fine, and the scale is surely a challenge to perform your artful painting!!!

Great work!!!

Yeah, but when the interior is THIS good, you display your finished (sealed up) model with pics of the interior in the background.

Amaz-za-zing!

A good friend of mine is on staff at Tonmo, and her nickname is indeed "Tintenfisch", but I thought I would warp it a bit in her honour(she is hot)...note the octopus on the conning sail...
