Create your own unique airfield in any scale, any size.
Give it a name and post the pics. :tornado:

Scribe taxiways using knife, and paint taxiways and grass!

Your just plain evil Matrix!

I want my airstrip to be hidden away in a dormant volcano! Of course VTOLs will be a must!   Oh and I will most likely have an underwater entrance for my sumbersible carrier and attack subs :)   (sure, I watch too many bond movies...but If I win the lottery boy oh boy!)

If you won the lottery....

You werent allowed to buy a F-14 (same goes for F-16 and F-15 and F-18)

You wouldnt have enough money to even buy a 737

You could buy a Cessna C172 with spats

Great minds think alike! I bought a Hobbycraft X-1 some days ago, and I really want to make a "Right Stuff" diorama with it. I think about the scene when Yeager has a glance at the X-1 for the first time. He's ridding a horse in the desert, then come across the aircraft during a test engine...

Alas, if Matrixone is in, we are all beaten even  before the competition start! ;)
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Recall that there are airbases that move over the waves.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Sentinel Chicken

I call mine "The Chickenport" and I built it over the years specifically for shooting pictures of my 1/400 diecast jetliner collection. Some pics over the last few years:

Wow is that a cool Chickenport Mr Chicken! It's a real treat to see all those by-gone airliner liveries there too! The baggage handlers look a bit overworked though.

can i ask how you got these brilliant results because every time i have attempted a similar project for my 1/500 airliners it never works and ends up ina box somewere :tornado:

Sentinel Chicken - Love the old silver Western scheme, I was sorry to see it go. :( Rode a 737-300 in that back in '85 or so, also one of the DC-10s in the white scheme SLC-ANC. Best landing I ever had the pleasure to witness as a passenger, barely knew it had happened. But I digress...

The project reminds me of "what if" type drawings I'd do on graph paper in high school (geek doodling). I'd make neat bases with seaports, hidden airbases in a mountain Swiss-style, etc. For good measure I often had the overlay of HUD symbology over them, leading my favorite target into the CCIP pipper. KABOOM! :ar:

I'm looking forward to whatever the group comes up with.

That ''Chickenport'' diorama forced me to do a double take! :D
Truely excellent work.

Here's the screen capture (alas, a bit crude) from "The Right Stuff" that I want to turn  into plastic... ;)
