BlackOps

Well, I think I needed some more distraction from the real world and a slight detour from what if so I decided to do a Sci-Fi build. This one is straight out of the imagination using bits & pieces I already have or that I can scratch together.

I am goin' all freestyle as inspired by so many here, just try it! I started with the nose of a 1/72 Gripen, an extra canopy on the underside which really becomes the upperside   Some other bits and peices from the parts box and it's starting to take shape.

A 1/44 F-16 canopy will be the real canopy, the 1/72 canopies are just for shape and will be painted.

UUUuuumm, I love cardboard (Cardboard, Yum!!!)
OK, I know I can't stop scratchbuilding. Someday, I will build something OOB....

YOU - ME- EVERYONE.
WE MAY THINK DIFFERENTLY
BUT WE CAN LIVE TOGETHER

I like the free stylin Idea. Many times I will go in with a definite idea of what i want to achieve, but some times I like to just wing it.

See what comes.

Some of my best stuff has resulted that way!!

Keep it comin.
Get this Cheese to sick bay!

Woah is that cool, Black Ops! I'm envious of you for having so many spare canopies! I can't wait to see what kind of paint scheme you come up with for this beauty.

Anxiously awaiting further updates,

Now this I REALLY like!!
Taking something from ones imagination and manifesting it in plastic (or wood/cardbourd/metal  ;)  ), takes some real skills, ones that I, unfortunatly am still mastering.
Great work, and I hope you will keep us updated as to its progress

Very cool.
We have a local Sci-Fi modelling club and the guys do great work, but  the problem is that almost to a man they are into 'hyper-accurate' builds of TV and cinema subjects, original concepts are extremely rare. 'Tis a pity.

Holy---huh?!  Thought this was ultra-compartmentalized----Did you get clearance to show this here?!   :o

Very cool...any specific finish/markings planned or will you wing that too?
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Have no idea where I'm headed as far as paint or markings are concerned but I did make a little more progress. As you can see I have a bit of putty and sanding ahead of me.

Neat plasmoid landing gear !  LOL...looking good, senor.  How about a fractal camo like the snow day build?

Brian da Basher

Woah Black Ops this is one of the coolest examples of sci-fi kitbashing I've seen in a while! I really like the twin tails and the little canards and pointy nose! This is what the new next-generation (22nd century?) Joint Strike Fighter should look like!
