Oh my giddy Aunt  :o

I can safely say compared to some of these pics and descriptions.. I have "nothing to see here, move along"

Old Wombat

I have something just over 200 kits (doesn't include figures, accessories or upgrades) in the modelling room with me, now.

I'm figuring there are, maybe, twice that in the shed.

At my current build rate of about 3/year, that's 200 years of kits ... Should be doable!

About 1275 in this picture, including in the drawers. Another 100 -200 upstairs in the "lab" in another closet or in plastic bins. Felix is inspecting the box with old resin kits and vacuforms:

Felix must inspect the model closet daily, sometimes with the help of his sisters. He's been good at picking models, though.

57 kits in total and, that includes the two I'm building. I operate on a strict "one out, one in" basis. Keeps everything under control, particularly including spending ;D . I just don't see  the sense, if any, in  having a huge pile of unbuilt kits that will never be built.

It does give us Whiffers are large parts supply when you really need a part that looks just like THAT.  ;D

If you don't buy them when you see them you might not get the chance again.
You can't rely on a kit being repopped or on a pre loved one being available to buy.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

84 for me, including the ones currently on the go, plus some I have in a box for sale at shows. At my current build rate, including the 3d prints I do, thats about 15 years worth. There are probably another 10 or so on my wishlist which are available to buy, and many more which I will have to design and 3d print.

That is most of the reasoning behind my purchases, along with becoming interested in a particular subject.

Between 350 and 400 at last estimate

Over 1200... :o

Can't do a precise count because I've got to go out in three hours...

It's hard to be precise because:

a) Some kits have been double or triple boxed, and I'm not opening every one to check

b) I've taken a rough estimate of all the unbagged kits since pulling them out of their starge crates to count them is a pain

c) I've probably counted some accessories and spares that are in "kit like" boxes.

nope just nope,  not counting the stash  :banghead:
i suffer the wargamers / roleplayers problem,  if you get a box of figures, do they count as 1 kit, ( a wargames unit) or separates RPG character figures  ( a multiple depending of the box size) . And some have been purchased as separates from multiple company's, to go together as a unit, as they looked close enough.
I  simultaneously have, not enough ( stuff is still coming out that i want) , Enough ( i have a stash and multiple projects within it ready to go) , and too much  ( i have precious little room left to store stuff without putting multiples in a single box).

and if i know exactly what i have i dont have the enjoyment of finding stuff that id forgotten wile looking for something else, the 2 1:48 scale Chinooks spring to mind ( 1 go-go bird, one 80s RAF)
