I finally decided to do something about my nearly finished Mitsubishi F-2A that got shelved after I destroyed one national insignia and a prominent walkway strip while trying to apply them. So, it's currently sitting upside down in my bathtub, wearing a coat of Mr Muscle.

Seeing as I've got no Japanese insignia, and no accurate paint match for the dark blue anyway, when it gets repainted it'll have a rather different scheme. The only question is, which one?

I've got one block 40 and two block 50 Hasegawa kit sheets, as well as a block 50 Revell kit sheet, all presently without a parent aircraft. Those might look kind of cool, and it'd take a trained eye to notice that, hey, this *isn't* an F-16. So that's one (six?) option(s).

I've got oodles of old Italeri F/A-18 decals (enough for six or eight different schemes, IIRC), which may also be good for something - I was just reading the discussion about the LTV Navy F-16 proposal, and someone commented that the final product would have had to look a lot like the F-2. Cool.

I've also got the leftovers of a Revell Typhoon which I'm doing up in German colors - which means there'll be British and Italian(?) markings left over. Way cool - those are good decals.

I've even got half a sheet of Tornado GR.1 decals - the ones that go with the gray/green early scheme. Outstanding decals.

I've got a set of black Kangaroundels from the Italeri Hawk 100 (or is that 200 - can't see the box from here... twinseater with wingtip rails, at least), and, I think, at least two options for the US Navy courtesy of a couple of Hase Super Hornets.

And finally, I've got a complete set of decals from a Hasegawa VE-1 Elintseeker (a similarly sized anime aircraft), which would mean I could pretty much choose my own scheme completely.

What to choose...?

(there's a bunch of AV-8B spares as well, come to think of it..)

Roos are from the Hawk 100, and I thing that would look sweet!

Wait your choice impatiently! I also had a T-2, but changed it totally into a pure
sci-fi fighter!

King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

I think I've figured out which nationality my F-2A will be - it'll be British! The question is, which scheme? I've got nice and big hi-vis roundels from a green/gray tornado, low-vis roundels from a Typhoon, and probably some roundels (don't remember which style, though) from the Hawk 100. If the Hawk 100 roundels are hi-vis and the right size, I may have the makings of either the overall Barley gray scheme of the interceptor units, the green/gray wraparound 80's scheme of the ground pounders, or the newer gray/gray scheme.

Regardless of what I pick, the landing gear and bays will be light aircraft gray...
