In 1983 the first democratic Argentine Government makes a plan to recover Malvinas Islands.
A part of this plan is project "Martin Fierro" -hero of the national Argentine poem- intended
to equip Argentine Air Force with a cheap but effective low level strike fighter, able to
perform bombing missions in Falkland Islands. Such aircraft can be described as a fast A-4.

Due to budgetary and time frame restrictions, it had to be built with components already in
use and to be subject to strict restrictions in avionics sofistication and empty weight.
Its role demanded a very sturdy structure. Everything was oriented to its primary role:
to perform fast, low level, heavy, conventional bombing in Falkland Islands. So, any
superfluous gizmo had to be deleted.

Israel Aircraft Industries takes charge of design and performs this phase mixing very known
and proven technologies and structures: those from Mirage/Kfir and MiG-21. Eventually,
production was passed to FMA's factories in Argentina. Argentine Air Force developed a
patagonian camouflage scheme too.

Here you can see that it is able to carry a heavy load of conventional weapons and external
tankage, besides its semirecesed 30 mm gun. In rear fuselage, chaff dispensers can be seen.
The front "moustaches" are intended to improve stability in fast low level flight.

Beautiful! Love the paintjob...
Baldrick: I followed Mr Da Vinci's instructions to the letter.
Blackadder: Even though you can't actually read.
Baldrick: No, but I have done a lot of Airfix models in my time.

Joder! que bueno! Vaya cazador que has echo!!! Me gusta mucho este modelo...
I was sure it was a Mirage Kfir kitbash. A good training for the FMA before shifting to the FMA-90 ;)
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Wonderful!  Tell us more, tell us more, please...
I guess (but please correct) the basis is a Kfir with Mig 21 tailplanes and scratchbuilt fin junction... Yes? No? Great anyway! Thanks for this one, enriching our Mirage collection...

Ok Maniac, (your going to love this) Do it again except use a J-8 Finback kit and call it either a longer rage follow-on or a all weather interceptor development.

I love it!

I have self imposed a limitation: I never spoil an expensive or good (japanese) model to make a whatif. Only spare parts and bad, swap, junk, dog, ... models.

This is made with: PM's Dagger and KP's MiG-21 and a lot of scratch, sanding, ... :D
