I have no idea what the backstory would be for this thing, other than it may or may not have entered service in the 60's, and it may or may not have compete with the A-4, and it may or may not have ever entered foreign service.

All's I know is that this 1/72 Matchbox Fiat G91Y looks damn good in decals from an Emhar FJ-1 Fury (and squadron number from an A-7E)!

I call it the F/A-91C for no special reason, other than I've run out of designations.

Probably not much of a useful load, but if you got two of them they could carry a largish weapon between them on a string...

Very nice!   :D
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Unladen swallow... she lost her coconut?
Lovely model! That's sure, it look great!

French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

After all, why not another F-91 ??!! considering the era, it could be a viable number

That is one kit that I wish was available in 1/48th scale.  It is so tough looking with that blunt nose and F-86 on steroids look.

Nice work!  Its a beauty eh!

I have read in a French magazine that the G91Y was designed as an exact copy of the F-86K, at a smaller scale, so having it with US colours would seem right, like a Copyright fee...
(I don't pretend this scale affair is true, French journalists may have been simply angry that their own candidates did not win the NATO contract)
Anyway, nice model, congratulations. :)

Anthony you are an amazingly talented one-man Whiff factory! This one is sharp as a razor! Love it in U.S. Navy colors!

Ah? you are also a reader of Le Fana de l'aviation? I don't know if there are partial. But for sure, they have a particular tone sometimes (don't tell them that the Flyer made the first powered flight in history!!!)

Well, considering you're sitting at your computer naked, I, uh... um... er... thank you?

As long as it doesn't cause you a full on Whifgasm, we're ok.

Like I said, I couldn't come up with a backstory for this two engine version of the G91, just that I thought it would look killer in USN markings, what with it having two engines for over the water ops.

The Airfix G91R single engine version looks almost exactly like a smaller F-86.
