Swap the engine and cockpit position of the Sparka and your partway there.

Slightly digressing to it's stablemate, I've wondered before if the Sparka arrangement might be a way of getting more power out of the Fairey Battle.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I got what you meant, I'm saying a Firefly with exactly the layout of the Sparka.

It'd definitely give the Battle more power, but it wouldn't be an improvement.

Hmm, would an Italian "Sparka" have three engines in line?
The Macchi, Caproni, Fiat or Reggiane Triplo or Triplice?

Oh, I got you too, I was in agreement.

A Battle-Sparka would be good for the Bad Idea GB. With the Battle being used heavily as an engine testbed,  I can see it as a (failed) experiment.

Two Napier Dagger in tandem, fwd. engine mounted in normal vertical orientation.
Aft engine mounted horizontally in an attempt to ensure enough airflow to the
engine. Forward engine cooled by usual forward intakes, aft engine by scoops on
the sides of the cowling.
