I built this from a three view drawing I got from the Brooklands Museum via Bob Casbard.  It's in 1/72 scale and I started with a Smer Tempest Mk.V.  This version of the Tempest was to be powered by the RR Eagle 24 cylinder 'H' engine but was cancelled before it got off the drawing board in 1945.  Here's the link to some photos of the model:

Hi everyone, no I'm not in any SIG.  I got here through Falcon and Jamatari and I didn't have anyway of posting photos.  It was suggested I sign on the the MSN What-If forum and use the picture service.

I was on the Airfix forum before it was closed down and since then I signed up on The Airfix Tribute Forum, the Unofficial Airfix Forum, the Exfix Forum and now here

I've added a photo of the three view drawing to the photo set.

Hi Geoff, Martin,

Thanks for the welcome, it's nice to be with people with the same thoughts as me.

My location is Calgary, Alberta but I'm not sure where your locations are, not near here I'm thinking.  I'm a transplanted Brit who came to Calgary in 1980 and my home town is Poole in Dorset.

What scale is it? do you have a link to their website if they have one?

Also I've always thought that the MB5 should have had a bigger engine.  The Griffon in the nose looks a little lost.  The MB5 I've built is a Airframe vacuform in 1/72 scale.

This picture of mine is on Airfix's Gallery:

Seriously though, Blackbeard Resins have released an Eagle Tempest conversion.  I know one or two people who've got it and it fits the Academy Tempest as easily as the Heller/Smer kit.
Can voutch for that - nice conversion kit

Lovely model kitnut
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thanks everyone for your compliments and comments.
