I'd originally planned on building this as a Peruvian Rafale (part of a South American arms race). Once the paint went on, however, I thought it may work better in Libyan markings.

What do you all think?

How did the country lose its way...when did we stop rooting for the man with a flame-thrower or an acid-spraying gun of some kind?

experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Beautiful model, beautiful scheme!!

I fly over Libya a couple of times and this scheme looks perfect for this country!! As far as I remember, of course!

So, if I where you, I'd go for Libya!!

But after all, i admit that I never fly over Peru!

PS: Moreover, it sounds more logical to have Rafale in Libya than Peru: Libya asked for Rafale a couple of time and for the moment, French government always refused. But if Libya become a little more democratic, France will probably sold some Rafale to them ;)
On the other side, it appears that Peru will probably chose cheaper planes or the retrofit solution in the next years...

Peru! The red in their roundels will set off that green nicely.

PERU.  Reasons (realistic ones at that)
1)  The Peruvian Air Force has had a rough time with the MiG-29s it purchased some years back.

2)  The Peruvians get worried over the "Red Tide" overcoming South America.  With Hugo Chavez getting Su-30MKVs for Venezuela.  Same thing with Bolivia.

You nailed it, my friend.

I'll get into details of my scenario when I post more photos.

Ok, decided on Peru. Just finished up the decals.

Oh yes that's quite a beauty David! I really like the way those Peruvian markings look on that camo! Excellent stuff!

QuoteColumbia,  didn't Venezulea get some Su somethings?
The Regime of Hugo Chavez of Venezuela is claiming that they are in talks with the Russian government to purchase Su-30MKs.  They have already purchased some Mi-35s, Mi-17s, and 150,000 AK-103 assault rifles.  At first the claim had been for MiG-29s.  There really is an arms race going on in South America.  That is part of the real world.  :(
Colombia on the other hand is firmly in the US camp and gets most of its military equipment from the US and US allies.  If Venezuela does get its Su-30MKVs, don't be surprised if the US government sells Colombia some F-16s or F-18s.  While CBS, ABC, or NBC won't tell you so on the evening news, things are getting ugly in Latin America (and are bound to get uglier).  Again, that's reality in our world. :(

This Rafale is Peru's response to Venezuela, Bolivia, and Brazil. By 2015 there is a massive arms race going on in South America. Colombian F-16s and A-10s (to fight the Venezuela-backed FARC). Peru and Chile are a defacto military alliance. Peru is having problems on the Bolivian border (Nuevo Sendero Luminoso or something like that). Maybe Brazil and Argentina have chosen to go nuclear. In this scenario, South America, for all practical purposes, looks poised for a large, multi-state war.

Best looking Rafale to date, I do believe.  Nice job on everything.
