From 1943 the Eagle went into full production and first saw combat in March 1944.
Originally designed as an Escort Fighter, eventually they were given their own escorts, P-51's. The P-75 proved to be a little sluggish and as agile as a
P-38 'target tug'. The production finished with the P-75A and these Escorts ended their days during The Korean War.

One last thing, what I have never worked out is, how were the four nose cannons to fire through the 'contra-props'?

Fuselage : 1/48 Dauntless
Wings: Inner section Dauntless/outer section P-40
Nose : Scratch
Props : P-38

Wow! you kitbashed a kitbash plane. I remember reading in Bill Yenne's World's Worst Aircraft that the P-75 was the spawn of a contrived plot to get GM out of having to build B-29s by having a higher priority project.

Great picture and build of a crappy plane!

I always thought the kitbash prototype had more character than the pretty-much-original redesigned ones.

Ay carrumba Glenn you really pulled that off! That's one great build of a most unusual subject! I really like how you did the guns and the canopy! Way to go!

:D incredible!  That's a great bit of kitbashing and the final result is excellent. My hat :ar:  is off to you.

Very, very carefully.  ^_^

It's funny (or tragic) but they made 14 of the P-75's and lost all 14, and the horrible part about it was, they lost most of the pilots!
I knew on one would ever make a model of it so thought, 'why not'

I've always kind of liked the P-75 Glenn, reminds me of the runt of the litter that no one want's. Great work on the kit bash - I'll have to wait for the Vallom one to come out

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
